I dropped in a Hopaholic a couple weeks ago while I was kicking around Budapest, and I was not disappointed! When I was there, they had 10 taps: 4 IPAs, an English stout, a couple lagers, a couple sours, and a BBA red ale, plus at least 100 additional beers available for bottle or can pours. The place is chock full of brewery stickers and other esoterica; it’s not really a ruin pub but it has a fun, welcoming chaos to it. I enjoyed my conversation with the bartender (English is no problem) and I wouldn’t hesitate to go back on my next trip to Budapest.

I got here due to an advertisement on some other beer centric app/site. It wouldn't take that much time to visit the place. Once I got there, it was a bit crowded and small with 3 floors.
The staff is really nice and advised me very well on things that I wanted to try out but they gave me a heads up on which beers weren't that good. Most people would just accept the order and go with it and let the customer leave unsatisfied.
On the last day (I've been here 3 times) I asked for a bottle of Warpigs Boogoop and I had to share it with the bartender to not drink it all. It didn't last much for him to give me a glass of rare stuff that some of his friends had just popped up.
The selection is one of the best I've ever seen. Warpigs, Oskar Blues, tons of Mikkeller, tons of belgian, dutch and german beers. The selection on hungarian beers was also relevevant although I didn't knew that many.
All and all, the selection and the staff make it for this place. Would love to come back again!

Okay, I live in Texas... But Crooked Stave from next door Colorado is not available in Texas. So imagine my surprise to see that several Crooked Stave beers were available at Hopaholic in Budapest Hungary! This is a nice craft focused bar not too far from the main Ruin Pub area of Budapest. This pub has a modern industrial vibe, perhaps a bit trendy. They had about 10 taps, around half of which were Hungarian crafts and a nice bottle selection. Definitely worth checking out (and don't forget to check out the awesome Ruin Pubs while in the area as well).
