Creative art adorns most walls through out this spacious tap room, giving the brick centric space a creative soul. The use of the space is odd, but inviting. Belgian focus on the beers, but plenty of other styles represented as well. Some bottles and cans add to this diversity. Beer all around was solid to good, Belgian wheelhouse evident. Service was absent minded at best. Might have been high, very friendly though, either way don’t expect quick service

Stopped in here following a River Taxi trip to Chinatown and a quick bus ride west. It's a large warehouse-style space amongst other, similar buildings, set off about a block from the main drag (so to speak). Lots of brick, tall ceilings, some bistro-style and picnic tables adding to the bar seating. (Gotta say, the bar stools ain't all that comfortable to me, but it's no major deal.) Dog friendly, always a plus. About a dozen offerings on tap, a few more from the can/bottle, a couple of them taproom exclusives. You can guess what I ordered. Pretty good stuff overall. There are empanadas and such available, but that's about it in the way of food (and I didn't have any, so...). Staff seemed mostly fine to me, though appeared to be eye-roll-y when it came to others' orders (just my approximation, could have just been a misapprehension there). All-in-all, a pretty nice place to visit in the area, one I would definitely like to revisit with some friends in tow.

I stopped in at Lo Rez Brewing while visiting Chicago last weekend. It's a neat old warehouse-type space with lots of exposed brick and funky furnishings; I liked the overall artsy and DIY vibe of the place. When I was there, they had a DJ spinning cool indie tunes which fit well with the vibe of the place, I thought.

There were 9 beers on tap when I visited, including some Belgian and barrel aged offerings. Overall I was pretty impressed with the beer quality; they are doing some good stuff here. Service was good as well.

this place is worth a visit when you are in chicago, and is actually better and cooler than it sounds based on the ratings here. i dont think i did a great job ordering, i had a barrel aged rye saison and a new school type pale ale, both full of promise, but i didnt want more of either one. they did have a big selection when i was in though, and im sure they are making better beers than the ones i had, as the place was absolutely packed on a weeknight and i had to grab one of the only remaining seats in a long bar. its a neat space, a grand old warehouse minimally jazzed up, exposed yellow brick everywhere, high ceilings and windows, and some patio lights strung up over picnic tables, it somehow feels homey for how minimal it is, a nice cozy vibe, and it was just bustling with thirsty patrons. the service was good for how busy they were, and the energy was good, upbeat but also relaxing. for now, and maybe just in my experience, the space is better than the beer, but there i am very optimistic that it will catch up, and i would recommend this place as is, a great space to chill and try some interesting brews. great taproom!

Cool space with a skyline view.
Former warehouse uses the loading dock as a patio to enjoy great weather and the cover protects from both the searing sun and rain.
Inside is a long bar for 25 people and easily 80 or so at communal picnic tables. The cement and exposed wood frame space is dotted with art and flora for a welcoming appearance.
A full range of beer styles are complimented by experimental takes on classics. I especially liked the Raster and Local Logic.
Servers work hard, are knowledgable, and seem to be having a good time even when slammed.

A really fun place with room for groups.

I'd been eager to check out Lo Rez after trying some of their beers recently at Beer Under Glass. Visiting the brewery did not disappoint. It's located in a light mixed industrial area near Dvorak Park and more residential as you go north on Carpenter towards 18th. We stopped here after a bocce game in the 21st & Halsted lot nearby, to cool down with beers afterwards.

Decor is minimal industrial with some sparse greenery, plants in the corners and picnic tables on a concrete floor. Long L-shaped bar, also concrete. Chalkboard slats above the bar listed the beers with style and abv underneath. Service was quick and friendly.

There was a small outdoor patio area on the former loading dock, covered by a weathered corrugated metal awning and framed with wood rails. Minimal but effective.

The Berliner and APA I had were both very good. Milk stout was decent. Quality was very good, which was a big plus from a new brewery. Looking forward to what these guys do in the future.
