Freestanding commercial building on the southern end of town. Parking in rear. Curved bar to the right of rear entrance seats 14, with an additional counter opposite the bar a dozen tables about the room and a patio in front along the main road. 10 beers on tap. Friendly bartender. I did not try the food.

10/3/22 update. My last experience with Big Slide was a lot better. Good food, excellent beer. They are back in the circle of trust. Excellent experience, will be going back soon, hopefully good experience continues
Stopped here for beer, wanted to try the food but the waitress left us and never came back. The atmosphere is open and modern, semi-industrial. Sat right in front of the tanks and got a treat to watch them make beer. Unfortunately this place was more miss than hit with the beer. Some of the beer was lacking the flavor, could hardly find any rye spiciness in the rye ale or just undrinkable--St. Peppers. Their gose was good. I give them credit for trying a bunch of different styles. I really wanted to like this place more than I did.

Hard to believe there is a place like this in the middle of the Adirondack Mountains! Very hip and modern vibe, super friendly staff, great food, and really great beer. Their Giant IPA is a new favorite for me!

Nice newish place on the outskirts of Lake Placid. Near the ski jump (and John Browńs grave).
Very busy for Sunday brunch. Extensive food menu. Very good quality dishes.
The beer menu was limited and unexpiring - and it seems to be going downhill.

Great environment, friendly staff on the outskirts of Lake Placid. Purchased the seasonal, Brett Saison, and the corked bottle is a pain in the ass to open and once you open it you are drinking the entire thing versus re-corking. Saison falls a little flat and has a sour & sweet sensation (yes in that order) before you can appreciate complexities in the flavor which is both fruity and piney.

My friend and I stopped in during a hiking trip and each got a flight. We both found only one of the beers drinkable, the IPA. The rest of the samplers we left- it was really too much of a chore to drink them. I'd give this place a miss for a couple years. By then they should have improved or closed.
