Beer On The Wall

 

 

Though I usually frequent the Arlington Heights location, differing menus has occasionally brought me to Park Ridge as well. Just as in AH, we're near the Metra station, though traffic's not quite as busy as over there. Inside, you're treated to a welcoming environment that offers some brews on tap as well as a damn solid selection of individual bottles and cans, the focus being on local and local-ish breweries. The staff is great, they know they're stuff, and they're always ready to help when the need arises.

Wonderful selection of beers and ciders, well representing Chicagoland breweries and good picks from the rest of the nation, and world. Coffee and tea is to die for featuring a plethora of Dark Matter and local sourced tea options. They even have Sprecher's soda for those not keen to have alcohol or caffeine. Aesthetic is a fun blend of modern and retro with a wonderful small outdoor seating area. One of the best parts is the community friendly environment with board and card games plus an NES to boot.

4/6/18: Second visit to pick up several craft offerings. Plentiful selection, many brewers and styles represented. Staff knowledgeable, very good customer service.They have a small bar and table if you want to have a few draft pours at the store, limitations (Park Ridge) in terms of number of beers/ounces you can drink in an evening, somewhat pricey. This is a store I look forward to heading to, including tastings from brewers they hold a few times a month.

Cool place. Located right off the Metra station, in the typical old school strip of shops along the train tracks.

Inside there were some tables up front, shelves in the middle and more tables in back. A bar along the left side and a few coolers with singles towards the back. Several crying children in between.

Selection was very good, a few hundred beers. Off Color, Metro, Marz, Sketchbook, Short Fuse, Boon Oude Geuze, Firestone, Midnight Pig, BA Scorched Earth, Dovetail X01, Toppling Goliath, Prairie, and more. Drafts from Cigar City, Metal Monkey, Haymarket, Burnt City, Midnight Pig, 18th St, Short Fuse, Une Anee, and more.

Service was hands off until I got to the register. They were helpful and friendly. Overall a nice place if you're local, and the draft beers and Dark Matter coffee definitely sweeten the deal. Never thought of Park Ridge as a beer destination before, but i'd definitely stop here again.
