Baileys Sports Grille

This is a one of my more regular stops.

Its located right in the middle of downtown West Dearborn, about 10 minutes west of Detroit, right on Michigan Avenue. It attracts a diverse crowd of all ages, and does a brisk after-work business from clientele from Ford Motor Company. Weekends feature a more younger crowd. There are quite a few T.V.'s here and sporting events are featured prominantly. Music via the TV's and music videos play non-stop and are at times a little loud. There is a good-sized area with many pool tables for those who like to shoot a little stick.

The food is decent and features quite a few sandwiches and appetizers. The Buffalo Chicken sandwich is a standout, so give it a try.

There is a second, fairly, large room with more TV's and comfortable couches and chairs. Cigar smoking (a plus in my book) is allowed in this room.

The beer selection is where Bailey's really shines. 50 taps line the back of the bar and feature a diverse group of beers, ranging from a local favorite, Bell's (and its seasonal choices) to standbyes like Sierra Nevada and Sam Adams. The bottle selection is quite good and many European beers are featured.

$2 Tuesdays.....

This place had a good election of craft beer. The bartender was very knowledgeable and the food was pretty good. This is a great place to watch a sporting event or shoot pool.

 

Very slow, limited tap option, never updated, poor service

 

A nice (not great, not shabby) selection of various craft brews. Would have been better if the staff had mentoned 'happy hour' coming up. It was not posted anywhere that we could find. That makes it worth stopping in and enjoying the place. Kind of felt like a "Hooters" with black shirts (and none of that very tacky 'nude hose' to cover up the legs) instead. It is be a bit more classy. Don't mean to sound too harsh. The food, on only one visit, was average. Nothing exciting and the service was average as well. What is does have going for it is the competition - very slim pickings in the area.

We'll go here again, simply because there is no other bar place that we have found so close to our location that compares with the selection and value. Buddy's for pizza, Bailey's for beer. Just blocks apart.

Nice clean place with a bunch of TVs to watch the game on. Several pool tables, video bar games (trivia / brainteaser etc), and a few couches to kick back and down a pint on in addition to the standard bar and tables. Great selection of imports and micros. They used to have a $2.50 pint night with anything on tap for 2.50 on Tuesdays. Call to check, $2.50 pints of Celebrator can't last forever. Typical large or chain bar menu with appetizers, burgers and the like. Good stuff, but nothing to go crazy about. Overall a good if somewhat generic bar.
