Our brewery takes its name from the 82 Streetcar line which ran from 1888 until its closing on September 7, 1958. This line started at 5th & G St and continued through the neighborhoods of Eckington, Woodridge, Mt. Rainier, Hyattsville, and College Park. The video on the introduction page chronicles the route starting at the intersection of Florida Ave and New York Ave in NE DC and runs through all the neighborhoods listed above. The route follows Rhode Island Ave (Rt. 1) for the majority of the trip. We chose this name because all three of us live on the path this line took through our neighborhoods and we can easily imagine ourselves hopping onto Streetcar 82 and meeting up at our brewery to make and drink craft beer!

Vibe: The owners are deaf. Inside, it's practically silent. Outside, huge groups will congregate on the picnic tables and people talk a lot. The place gets a healthy mix of deaf and hearing people.
Quality: Streetcar 82 has only been around for about a year, but they make some pretty decent beers. I've never had a bad beer here.
Service: Mark, the brewer/co-owner, is a cool guy. He's deaf, but seems to have some limited hearing and is pretty easy to communicate with. On slower nights, I've chatted with him for a bit. I met one bartender who seemed a bit aloof, but in general the service is pretty good.
Selection: They have a 12 tap system, no guest taps. A little IPA heavy, but in general, pretty good stuff.
Additional notes: It looks like they are in the process of putting in a retail space. I would love to get a Streetcar 82 shirt or pint glass next time I'm there.

Visited on a Wednesday early evening. Lots of outdoor seating (picnic tables, "high top" barrels, etc.). Purchased a 4x5oz flight for $11 and three of the four beers were solid but not amazing. Worth a visit but I probably won't be back anytime soon.
