When the sun has long since disappeared and goosebumps have become a permanent state of being on your skin, Freezin' Season is the perfect companion for blanket-covered night on the couch.
Remember what it was like to feel your fingers? Us neither. Welcome to winter. You wake up, put on 6 pairs of underwear, then go outside to enjoy your 8 minutes of daylight. So stack that firewood, crack open a Freezin' Season and tell seasonal affective disorder to go $%*# itself. Yeah, it's cold outside. But inside, this warming winter ale always keeps the bonfire burning.

12 ounce bottle, no dating I noticed on the bottle or label. Thanks to Brutaltruth for this! Served in a chalice, the beer pours a somewhat clear amber color with about an inch off-white head that stuck around a little while. There's also a decent amount of lacing. The brew smells like toasted malt, nutmeg, cinnamon and some herbalness. Taste is pretty much just like the aroma, but there's also some candied orange flavor noticeable too. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's a bit coating and has a moderate amount of carbonation. I thought this was a decent enough brew, but something just seemed to be missing with this one. Wouldn't mind trying it again in the future though!

From the 12 oz bottle in a snifter. This solid little warmer pours
a medium dark copper with a nice head of off white foam that settles
to a thick ring, thin dusty layer, and sport some excellent lacing. Nose of
toasted malts, orange zest hints, subtle cinnamon, brown sugars, and
dark breaded malts. Flavors hit the mark with dark brown sugar dusted
across dark breaded malts, orange zest, cinnamon, subtle cardamon, and
moderate herbal hops. Mouthfeel is medium, medium light carbonation,
smooth, and finishing lightly dry and subtly tart.
Of note, cranberry shows with warmth.
Overall, a solid Winter Warmer!
Cheers

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a chestnut color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of malts, spices. Taste is the same as the aroma. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall it ain't a bad beer, but I was expecting more.

On tap, 14 oz shaker glass.
Light head which dissipated quickly, leaving a bit of lacing at the beer line.
Very nice "old school" winter ale; deep copper/med brown color, straight ahead holiday season ale. No big spices or.hop additions, just a well balanced medium brown ale like you used to be able to find in the late fall (Anderson Valley Winter Solstice).
Any spices blend in well with the malt profile, making this a very drinkable ale; perhaps its the English yeast they used? I would recommend this without reservation.

12oz bottle into a pint glass. Best by 3/14/22, so 6 months late on this one.
Looks decent enough. Clear auburn body. Small white head shrinks to a ring, specks of lacing.
Sweet malty aroma with a side of spices and boiled candy notes.
On tasting, the spices push ahead of the sweetness, which then tries to assert itself before the winter spices barge back in.
Mouth closer to full than medium, finish spices and a little warming.
Overall, given the age, not a bad beer. There is a fair amount of variation during the drink which keeps it interesting. Abv drinks lower than listed.
