A white buffalo standing out from the herd of dark stouts. Gold in color, Casper melds the creamy mouthfeel and coffee hints of a stout with the unexpected flavors of Pilsner malt, white chocolate, and vanilla. It’s not a misnomer. It’s a Casper. Stand apart.

JP’s Casper White Stout – Whole Hog Beer
Look: 3.5
The head collapses almost immediately, leaving it looking a little sad almost like cola, yeah thats bad, Compared to my first impression, it’s less impressive visually, but it still shows a SRM 13–14 color reminiscent of a Belgian brown yep root beer!
Smell: 3.75
Vanilla and cherry dominate, with a subtle hint of almond. The order of perception shifted slightly on the second pour, though nothing dramatically changed.
Taste: 3.75
Sweet with a balanced bitter hop, malt, and caramel notes. Cherry stands out more than vanilla, but the flavors feel slightly artificial, almost soda-like. Delicious, though it challenges what I consider “pure” beer.
Feel: 3.5
Round and smooth in the mouth, very drinkable. The lack of head is noticeable, likely from additives, but it doesn’t really ruin the experience.
Overall: 3.75
I still enjoy it—it’s sweet, approachable, and dessert-like—but it feels a little fabricated. I ended up pouring out about a third to save room for beers more aligned with my taste.

Pours a clear golden color with a foamy white head that provides a cap on the body of the beer as you enjoy it. The nose is white chocolate and vanilla, which is where the taste lands as well. The mouthfeel is medium and edges towards creamy. Good stuff.

Not a style beer that I have a lot of experience with, however, I have had this particular offering twice now and find it to be fantastic. I get a symphony of white chocolate, almond, and vanilla on the nose. Much the same on the nose. I don’t know why this style doesn’t get more traction. Need more white stouts on the market.

From the 12 oz bottle in a snifter. This interesting little "stout" pours a
clear chill hazed amber tinged golden color with a nice head of white foam that
settles to a thick ring, thin dusty layer, and sports light lacing. Nose of caramel,
vanilla, and faint chocolate. Flavors follow the muted nose with lightly roasted
malts, chocolate, vanilla, and caramel. Mouth feel is medium, medium light
carbonation, smooth, lightly refreshing, and finishing lightly sweet.
Overall, it is unique.
Cheers

Good foam lacing. Great mouthfeel. Very similar to a cream ale but slightly sweeter and with hints of vanilla. I had it on tap at The Milwaukee Burger Company in Hudson. Not quite as good in the bottle as on tap but still solid.

Had it nitro on tap. Tasted more like cream soda than a beer, but I actually was really impressed by the flavor and creaminess.

Pours a light golden color with a thing white head the dissipates quickly. Lots of chocolate on the nose.
Taste is white chocolate and malt up front, however it is a bit thin. There is a herbal note in there along with a sweetness to it. This one would go good with a meal.
