It's good for sure. A little thin maybe, but the flavors are nice and tasty. Easy drinking at 11% too. Limit 8 I think in the store. They're in the Kate the great stubby bottles from last year.

Awesome, got the tip Saturday from the Brewery when I was there so on my wayback up tonight. Good news is they dont expect this to kick in one day as Kate would have. Thanks to the non hype...but we had to hype it a little right?

There's a definite "oh it's the new Kate." "Dont call it that!" vibe going on. Bottling it in the stubbies doesn't help that.

Any word on the cost of a bottle? I'll be heading down around 4 to try it out.

    :astonished:

Did it take as long as Kate to brew? That's kind of ridiculous tbh. I mean, premiere BA stouts don't even go for that much.

Would much rather spend $8 on a good quality beverage then ciggys or something else

Got to try some at lunch and even chatted with Tyler for a quick bit. Where the KtG recipe included port-soaked oak spirals, the Royal Impy Stout is bourbon oak and a completely different recipe. A lot more chocolate and some dark fruits in the profile. I wouldn't call it boozy, but the bourbon is noticeable. This is a very nice beer and well worth $6.75 for a 10-oz. pour or $8 for an 11.2 oz. bottle. Seems like it should age well too.

I missed the Royal Impy Stout today, but had a chance to stop in for lunch on Saturday, when all but two taps were in-house beers. The other two taps were Smutty Wheat Wine and Shoals Pale Ale, so still fitting for Portsmouth Beer Week. I especially enjoyed the Project X, Oatmeal Pale Ale (collaboration with Flying Goose), Cirque du Citron (collaboration with Oxbow), and as always when it's on, the Oatmeal Stout.

It's not kate, but it's still great. Get your hands on the impy stout if you can. Very tasty.

I really want to try the imperial stout and cirque du citron. They both sound great. Really
Hope I can make it down there this week and get some.
