My friends and I had a great time this weekend in Philly. I wanted to thank everyone here that gave me advice/ideas. I truly appreciate my BA's in Philly. Thanks so much!

Here's the low-down on where we went.

    Friday:

Jose Pistola's- Great place! Karnival Kolsch, Polestar Pils and a kick ass burrito is how you end a 5 hour Amtrak ride. Great spot that we really enjoyed.

Good Dog- Loved Good Dog, great place to hang with awesome taps. I got to try a handful of brews I had never had including Edmund Fitzgeralrd Porter, which blew me away. Probably spent 3 hours at this joint.

Monk's- Monk's, while solid, was probably my least favorite spot. They were playing some dance/techno music that did NOT fit with the vibe of the bar at all. Plus the waitress didn't know what they had on tap. I asked for a pint of...can't remember what right now....and she said she didn't have it. I grabbed my buddy's Iphone to pull up Phillytapfinder to make sure I wasn't messing up the name and she interupts with "our website isn't up to date." When I pointed to the beer she was like, "oh, yeah we have that." Anyway, not a big deal, just expected they'd have more vets working at a place so highly regarded. Good taps, crappy vibe.

    Saturday:

Nodding Head- Pint of Grog was awesome. Service was painfully slow, but it was busy and we weren't in a rush so it wasn't a big deal. The Berliner Weiss my buddy got was tasty too.

Barcade- We played so much NBA Jam that my hand hurt the next day. Slamming down pints of Two Hearted whle playing old school video games was an experience I won't soon forget. Absolutely awesome. When it got too packed we went to.....

Frankford Hall- Another kick ass place. I love Bitburger, so to be able to order a liter of it in a mug the size of my thigh was just wonderful. Played some ping pong out back and had one of their pretzels. I didn't think pretzels could taste that good. I loved the fact that when we got back to the hotel we all smelled like camp fire from the fire pits at Frankford. Probably our funnest spot, even more fun than Barcade (which again, was great).

Thanks again everyone! Really enjoyed ny first trip to Philly. Side note, Museum of Art was a stunning place. Totally worth the $20 if you like history.

It really was a blast and since we were staying on 17th St., it was only like a 10 minute SEPTA ride.
