Nugget Nectar

Got some NN bottled today, 2/22, and it's drinking fine. Killer aroma too.

 

I second the aroma, very nice!

 

Do any of the Wegman's(preferably close to the city) still have Nugget Nectar? If so, let me know which dates you're seeing.

Wegmans in King of Prussia has a huge stack of it still. As of yesterday almost a full pallet.

 

It's also available on tap at The Drafting Room in Exton.

 

Sounds like there has been some huge batch variation with Nugget Nectar this year. I bought one six pack when it hit MD. I think it was dated 2/5/13 (or around there), and I picked it up about 7-10 days after bottling.
This NN wasn’t even close to anything I’ve had in the past. Barely any hop aroma whatsoever. The only thing that came through in the taste was the bitterness, with none of the juicy hops to balance it out. I was extremely disappointed, as this is a release I have looked forward to every year since 2008.
In a somewhat related note, a couple weeks prior to that I bought a week-old sixer of Perpetual IPA. This was even worse than the Nugget Nectar. It almost tasted like a Pilsner, it was so bland.
I have had NN and Perpetual in the past, and I know how good they both can be. I will be waiting until next year to purchase any more though.

(Note: No, I don’t have Lupulin Threshold Shift….I don’t drink enough hoppy beers)

 

Side Bar in West Chester, PA recently tapped a keg of NN, I believe Sunday. Also Renos, a nice little Italian restaurant by the Exton mall, has a few sixers of NN left, haven't checked bottled-on dates though.

 

Had a pour on draft last night. It was fine, what I expected....then again, I had no issues with my case.

 

Fine at TJs yesterday.

 

1-21-2013. Tastes and smells like a garbage can sitting out in the sun on a humid 95 degree day. I am going to return this, along with my hopes of Troegs hoppy goodness. I love this beer, it is one of my favorites, but something went horribly wrong with this batch.

 

I bought two cases of different batches, those were fine, but a tear goes out to those who tried 1-21-2013

 

Has anyone in Center City Phila seen anything other than 1/8/2013 dated bottles?

I'll give someone a very generous finder's fee if they can lead me in the right direction.

 

Head to DE. Total Wine had plenty yesterday. Naaman's Rd. Not sure of bottle date though but it should be Feb.

I am not trying to cause any problems here but I have a curiosity question: who will you return the beer to (your local beer store?)? What is your expectation for the return (get your money back?)?

Had a draft at Capone's last night.

It didn't do much for me.

 

How long is NN typically available for? I'll be by the brewery in early April but if I need to, I can have my friend buy a case and hold onto it for me.
