Enjoy By 4.1.13 in NYC?

I called a few places last week and they were like "Oh that's been gone for months... very limited". When I told them there was a new one, they seemed like they had no clue what I was talking about.

 

Good Beer just tweeted that they have it in limited quantities, 1 per customer.

 

Sold out at Good Beer.

WF Bowery supposedly has some behind the counter. New Beer is expecting it either tomorrow or Monday.

 

Top Hops also expecting it tomorrow.

 

A friend bought a bottle at Bowery today, so that's confirmed.

 

just got a bottle at WF Chelsea. Had to ask for it. 7.99

 

So how do places within blocks of each other not get it the same day?

I have been asking around Long Island stores, some down even know what the beer is. the beer geeks on this sie no more than most of the store owners.

 

Eagle Provisions told me that they had it in stock, but that it "wasn't being released until tomorrow," so they couldn't sell it to me until tomorrow. I told him that other places in town were already selling it. He shrugged and kind of gave me the "not my fucking problem" look.

 

Double Windsor in Brooklyn will most likely have it. They had it last time. Always seem to get the rarest and craziest shit.

 

I went here last night, was told they didn't have any. The guy even went to the back to check....that's annoying

 

What time did you go? I called yesterday and spoke to the beer dude and he told me they had it, 1 per person. When I went a few hours later, at 6pm, there was no one in the beer section so I asked some random worker and he told me he couldn't find it. I asked to speak to the beer guy, who was working at the coffee station, and he got it for me.

 

Went to WF Chelsea this morning. Beer guy wasnt in but customer service called in to the back and asked someone, said they were all sold out.

 

Sucks man. I guess they only got a case or so. Check Top Hops or New Beer - I talked to them yesterday and both were expecting it in today. You might even be able to charm the lady at New Beer into holding one for you if you ask nicely.

 

Thanks man, will give it a shot on my lunch hour! Oddly, Cherry Rye was seemingly easier to find.

 

I think it's the price (8 - 10 bucks) combined with the fact that it's an IPA that is making this so hard to find.

 

I was there around 7pm. I didn't speak to the beer guy - the worker I talked to made it sound like he wasn't in...

What a bummer. Congrats on the grab though.

 

My advice is to make friends with the people at WF and New Beer. They will usually hold stuff for you if you ask them the afternoon it comes in. That's how I got my Cherry Rye and Stone Enjoy By.
