Refrigeration technology had been in use for over twenty years by the time Foster's started up in 1888. The Foster brothers certainly owned an ice-making machine; possibly they were the first in Melbourne.

That's nothing. There's a billboard in the Tampa area (and I'm sure all over Florida) from Coors, that states...

"Coors Light... Florida's most refreshing beer"

I have never seen 750 ml cans other than Foster's.

But they do make quart containers for gasoline.

Cooper's was bringing these in back in the...gee, who remembers? I guess late-'70's/early-'80's, hoping to jump on Fosters "oil can" popularity I guess. Maybe a few other Aussie beers back then, too?

Oh hell, Tooth's KB, Resch's Pilsner, Toohey's Lager and I think I still have a can of what you posted. Memory lapse on my part.

Well, it was a long time ago... back when the "Australian" beer on the US shelves was imported from Australia.

Yeah, and the steel cans they came in made the beers taste..steely. Having had the beers I mentioned on draught when I lived in AU.

Fosters is produced in Fort Worth, TX and Albany, GA for the American market.

I think it could have been possible. It could have been brewed at higher elevations in the Australian Alps of southeastern Australia. It gets cold enough to have commercial ski resorts.
