I love sour ales! From your list:

Rodenbach - Vintage is my fav, then Classic. not a fan of Gran Cru
Petrus Oud Bruin - pass. not sour. not tasty
Monk's Cafe Flemish Sour Ale - good, but vinegary. I like vinegary.
Ichtegems Grand Cru - never had it
Petrus Aged Pale - YES. Not complex, but it's probably the best cheap sour
    Liefmans Goudenband - yes
Liefmans Cuvee Brut - pass. sweet tart cherry bomb
Jolly Pumpkin Weizen Bam - most JP are very good. my fav is LaRoja (intense) then Oro Calabaza
Bockor Bellegems Bruin - never had it
    Bacchus - never had it
Sierra Nevada Russian Riv Brux - not sour
Bockor Cuvee Des Jacobins Rouge - similar to Monks, but not as intense

You read wrong, nothing like a saison. Not a particularly good Oud Bruin either, in my opinion.

The Monk's Cafe is just meh... Not very sour or tart at all. The couvee jacobins rouge is one of my fav easilly obtainable sours -very nice, sour/tart profile. In my experience, if you try to spend less $$, then your sour is going to be less sour. It takes time/age to make a nice tart one - and age = $$

I must not have that developed of a palate for those types of beer not my favorite. However, could it have been skunked? I don't recall even looking for a bottle date and the company I've been ordering from seems to be very careful about none of their bottles having dates.

ON to the main thrust of your question there is probably plenty wrong with me I'm pretty fucked up in general so it is hard to gauge

I'm getting excited about trying Rodenbach, Petrus Aged, and Jacobins from all the responses my problem is I have bought sooo much beer lately I think I need to drink down my supply before buying another $150 or so off of this company, but I don't have any more sours and it was just delightful...

Gueuze Fond Tradition is pretty easy to find and somewhat cheap where I come from. If that's the case in Ohio, I'd say give it try. Jolly Pumpkin stuff is harder to find and more expensive in my area, but I've enjoyed the beers I've had from them as well.

There are loads of Belgian lambic shelf turds that are overlooked and under appreciated.

I think rodenbach grand cru is the best sour for the money. easy to find, cheap and complex unlike petrus aged pale which i found a bit one dimensional.

I also find that the Grand Cru is possibly more accepting by a new palate. It has rounder flavors and not as sharp as the Petrus.

But yes, you can't beat how good of a deal the Rodenbach.
