Iowa Rumors?

Has anyone seen the new Lips of Faith Kriek or the 2013 La Folie in Des Moines yet? I'm dying to get my hands on them.

 

I believe I saw on twitter that those plus the new LoF Tripel and Quad were at the Hyvee on Fleur but it sounded like they got like a case or less of each so don't know if they've got any left.

 

A firkin of Hopslam is being tapped tomorrow at Red's!

It has to be getting close. I need some Folie to add to my cellar for a vertical.

 

Got a bottle of Kriek in Des Moines on Tuesday. I heard La Folie is around, but haven't seen any yet...thougn haven't actively searched either.

 

Kriek has come and gone in Ames...didn't last long. Could've been more Kriek-y in my opinion. Still have Trippel and Quad on shelves. Haven't seen La Folie yet.

 

I know I have seen Kriek at Douglas Hy Vee within past week. I want to say LaFolie was there as well

 

It's shocking the amount of time it takes between what Des Moines sees first, and then how long it takes for the same bottles to work their way 2 hours west to Iowa City, or Cedar Rapids. I'm sure we will not see Kriek, Trippel, or Quad for a minimum of a week or more.

 

I saw the spot where Kriek was on Tuesday. Then on Weds I found a couple bottles at the Hy-Vee on Jordan Creek/University. Still haven't seen La Folie anywhere.

 

The differences between two neighboring states are interesting as well, as we have had all those LOF's (except kriek which came in this week) for about two weeks.

 

There is one Kriek left at JC hyvee.

 

i went cruisin yesterday and picked up a bottle of la folie at the pleasant hill hy vee. there were also some at beer crazy.

 

How much was it?

 

$25. Well worth it for a special occasion purchase.

 

I got one at Hy-vee for 25, but to get my second I had to cough up 32. I have yet to drink the one I didn't trade.

 

I'll give you $5 more than you paid for it if you still have it.....not joking. Barrel aged to perfection, drink now and discover one of our treasures. I never should have sold it!

 

Well that's quite a bit, but demand was definitely up. I was curious because I tried to get one, spent a lot of time and effort to be told by multiple Hy-Vee Employees that it first wasn't there (30 minutes after I saw that TG had delivered it on Fbook), to no avail. I figured they'd stock them the next day or something. I come back to hear that "it sold in a couple hours" the day I was there. I was, well, annoyed doesn't quite cover it.

 

Drank it last Friday....on my 33rd birthday, actually! Amazing beer. Wish I had another bottle. Thanks for creating awesome beers for us to enjoy!

 

I opened mine Saturday night. Split it with GF,SIL, but my daughter wasn't feeling well and passed.
After pouring, I told her to at least smell it. After smelling, she thought maybe a small bit would be ok. After drinking she said she really felt a lot better.
Now, I'm not saying TG has healing powers, but I'm not saying they don't. They always make me feel good.
Oh, the beer was great, as expected anymore. The taste reminded me of Utopias. A bit thinner, carbonated, a hint of whiskey, but if I had to compare it to something, that would be it.
