That's the day everyone in Maryland is driving to/from the beaches for the week over the same route.

Jim's Steaks is the best of those three, and I would also suggest going to Herschel's east side deli instead of DiNics. The line isn't nearly as long and they have some delicious sandwiches there. I've always thought Philly roast pork sandwiches taste like vomit anyway.

Rental houses change tenants for the next week. Many more people going hither and thither at the beaches.

I think a lot of the recommendations posted so far are great, but a lot of traveling involved. What general area are you staying at in Philly?

    3. Cheesesteaks: If your wife insists, just go to Pat's/Genos for the ambiance. If you had time, John's would be my choice within the city, but the hours are inconsistant on weekends and you wait a while for anything on the grill at John's as well.

Steve's or *****'s in the Northeast would be the best places IMO, but I wouldn't spend the time to venture to the Northeast for the day.

    5. Other food:

Dinic's: Will be packed in the RTM, but is worth the wait if you like roast pork. I would highly recommend Salumeria (Also in the Reading Terminal) if you're in the mood for an italian hoagie instead.

Federal Donuts: Definitely stop by in the morning for some fancy donuts and coffee, you could also skip the Reading Terminal for lunch and get fried chicken here after 11:30am, its amazing.

For the anniversary dinner: I would check out Zahav, Amada and Barbuzzo as some other alternatives.

    6. Bottle Shops: Personally, I dislike the Foodery. Too crowded most of the time. I think Beer Heaven is worth going out of your way for, and Hawthorne's is a good backup as well.

Craft Beer Outlet is my favorite spot, but again probably not worth your time to drive to Northeast Phila.

In Baltimore, you can't go wrong with either Max's or the Brewer's Art, and Vaccaros is great!

In Philly, I HIGHLY recommend Monk's Cafe and Eulogy! Great bars!
