NBO: NOOB STOUT FEST BIF

    I have wanted to get more involved on BA for a while now and what better way than to run a BIF!!

    What is a BIF?
    A Beer-it-forward (BIF) is a trade amongst a large group of people. Individual members are assigned a target and are expected to put together a box that fits various criteria/wants. In other words, each member of the BIF gets a box, and each member sends a box. The point of a BIF is to spread the love, hook up your fellow BA's, and get your own surprise in the process.

    What do I need to do to join?
    STOUTS AND MORE STOUTS! This is specifically meant for members that do not have a huge trading history, are hesitant to begin trading, or just want to be able to try a number of beers from outside their region. Only one rule for participants in this one: Your account must be at least 3 months old from the time the BIF begins.

    As long as we get at least 10 participants, this BIF is on!

    Rules for the Boxes
    1. At least 100oz of stouts, maximum of 200oz
    2. At least 1 Russian Imperial Stout
    3. At least 1 Barrel Aged Stout
    4. At least 1 Stout Rated 90+ on BA
    5. At least 1 Flavored Stout (Cherry, Chocolate, etc)
    6. At least 1 Local Stout
    7. At least one piece of brewery swag (Bottle Opener, Tulip, Shirt... etc)

    The Stouts should be decent stouts as well. By that I mean beer you would be happy to get, not just any shelf turd that is in the "bargain" section of your local bottle shop (love this quote). Try to hit wants, if not, send beer you would be stoked to receive. See if there is something there that is available to you locally or that you already own. If there is then you have the start to your box. Do you have anything that he would like? Lastly, try to give your target beers that they do not have access to.

    Timeframe
    Sign up: Until March 15th or we hit the max of 20 participants
    Targets assigned: March 17th or 2 days after max is reached
    Boxes must be shipped by: April 5th

    might I add........
    YOU MUST PARTICIPATE!!!! being a part of a B.I.F isn't just to get beer. It's to build relationships with other BA's. It's a good way to see how people interact with others, get to know(ish) their type of personality, and so forth. Don't join a B.I.F. because all the cool kids are doing it. Join it to have fun and gain a new experience. Bifs are what you make them, they can be as lame as hell (i.e. no participation, no hints, no ribbing, etc) to as cool as hell (lots of participation, hints, jokes, comments, pictures, etc). If you don't think you might not have time for a BIF, DON'T JOIN!!! They are extremely fun, but you get out what you put in.

    Looks like a fun noob BIF, but I only have two months under my BA Belt. I wish I would have joined in December!

    I'll stalk you guys, hopefully seeing some great haul pics and laughing along!
