Stillwater and Evil Twin are two they are slated to start contracting for. They will also be contracting for some breweries that distribute outside of CT (rumor has it Firestone Walker). If that's the case I'll be watching to see if any bottles happen to fall off the truck when they leave the facility

i've only had the saison, at willibrew the other night. to be honest, i thought it sucked. reminded me of when breweries like sam adams phone in a style and release it once. (and i love sam adams and southampton public house, so no bias here)

that said, given the pedigree i still expect great things. i'll give them a few more tries before writing them off.

They've been contract brewing Evil Twin and Stillwater already there. I'm sure there are others in the works.

Spoke to Clem as well last week, Nice guy. He told me only ones they were able to speak of were City Steam, Stillwater and Evil Twin. They were doing Stateside I believe there and the Evil Twin beer I can't remember they were testing out

Not sure about that, when I went, I tried it, and was told it was a sort of a test batch that came from the apprentices' recipes.

I'm finishing off a bottle of the DIPA that my cousin gave me, and I'm loving every sip. The saison was very nice, too. Delicious and refreshing.

Surprised that Two Roads isn't getting more chatter, but then again, maybe they're not releasing very widely so far.

Have not been to the taproom yet but the Saison and IPA I bought in the store have been nothing but mediocre.

Strongly disagree with the mediocre assessment. Nothing they've bottled is a world beater, but mediocre is an unfair assessment. The saison at mid-4's ABV is fantastic given the ABV. Could and would drink that all day. The double IPA is very drinkable. It won't set the world on fire and is very strangely named given that it's only 7.2%. I've had each of the other two (White IPA and Pils) once and thought they were good beers but haven't bought them again which would indicate I didn't love them, I guess.

Glad you enjoy them. Different strokes and believe me I so wanted to love them as I love to support the local.

I enjoyed the DIPA but will not drink the saison or white IPA again. Not terrible, just nothing worth drinking again. Looking forward to the stout though!!

Two more contractees that I haven't noticed mentioned yet in this thread are Fire Island Brewing Co, and Notch but, yeah, added together all these smaller companies' previous barrelage wouldn't seem to come close to 42,000 bbl.

Sounds like that sales rep was right. From their Facebook page, March 23rd.

I just orderd a 1/6th keg of Ruin. I have been ok with their other offerings, but I really like Ruin. I am all about supporting local, but to get 5 gallons of something "ok" is tough. I don't think it is oddly named....I assumed it was a play on Stone's Ruination, but maybe not. I usually buy matching tap handles, but they are so new there aren't any floating around yet. I don't think they are selling them at the brewery either.

I wonder if the rumors of Firestone Walker brewing there have any merit. Getting fresh FW ipa and pale ales in MA would be a real nice addition to my available selections. I am excited about Notch brewing there too - especially if the bottles are dated.

And would probably make sense for the private label Trader Joe's brands they brew, too, to have east and west coast brewing sites. Altho' I have no idea what sort of percentage those beers make up of F-W total production.

In NJ, I bought a case of FW Union Jack IPA early last fall that was only about 3 weeks old. I went to another local store the other day and there's still a stack of case on the floor with the same bottling date :grimacing:

And there's the Yardhouse house beers too. Been really enjoying the Yardhouse Hop Yard Anniversary IPA as of late.

Yeah, IME UJ IPA is good up to 2 months old, then I look elsewhere for hoppy beer. But they must drop huge shipments, because I have had similar experiences with seeing the same bottling dates on shelves for quite a long time.

I saw the new Evil Twin Yin and Yang 4 packs that are brewed at Two Roads today for $14.99 today, cool to see that their prices are coming down for the ones brewed at Two Roads. Now we just need IBB in 4 packs.

I haven't had a chance to try the saison yet, but felt the same about the DIPA and the white IPA. I tried the white IPA on-tap in New Haven a couple months back and wasn't a fan. It wasn't bad and admittedly it's not a style that I really like, so it just didn't do it for me. The DIPA, on the other hand, is quite nice--again not world-class, but something I'd definitely pick up again or be glad to order on-tap.
