Heard some markets outside of Cali are getting this. Any chances we see it here? Heard it is spicy as the habanero suggests. Sounds terrific and right up our ally here in Texas.

I remember reading some place that it was so popular that BP might bottle or can it.

The only peppered beer I've had is the Jalapeno ale from No Label... I would expect this Sculpin to be way better.. of course a different base beer style also... I was no fan at all of the No Label jalapeno beer.

Had it at a beer dinner at CT... it was pretty tasty, although I'm not a big fan of spicy drink. Very odd, since I am a huge fan of spicy food... I may have been dropped on my head as a child... or eaten paint chips or something... I'm seeing a therapist.

This is the way I am.... hopefully not dropped on the head as a child.. BUT I LOVE spicy food....hot sauce that makes other people squirm... give it to me.... but a spicy taste in an alcoholic beverage... blech... just not what I'm looking for.... but since I grow my own Habaneros... I'd like to try this if I ever get a chance... though I may just ask for a taster first!

I just saw they have also done a Ghost Pepper Sculpin... I'm sure that was a local San Diego area release... not sure I would try that one..ha.

It's one of the best pepper beers I've had alongside 512 Cascabel Stout. It's definitely spicy but it goes very well with Sculpin as a backbone.

Cascabel Cream is on of my absolute favs. I need to try this sculpin now!

I homebrewed a Pale Ale with spicy Hatch Chiles last year. Was pretty tasty...

And agreed that No Label's jalapeno ale is no bueno. In fact, I have yet to have a beer from them that I like. I suppose I should try one to see if they've tweaked their recipes.

    try Elevator Ghost Scorpion Lager.

then judge how much you like peppers in beers......

Ok.... I've had Cascabel Stout a couple of times.. and I love it... but I have never noticed any pepper flavor...it just tastes like a super creamy stout to me....

I didn't even know it had the chilis in it...ha... it is nothing like the strong jalapeno flavor I got in the No Label beer..

there's a peppery bite on the back end, most noticeable @ about 55 degrees or warmer from my experience.

The pepper in the habanero is in the same place as cascabel...just hotter.

That's kind of crazy. The first time I had a Cascabel Cream Stout, I was drinking it and thinking, why is this beer spicy? Then I looked it up and learned that cascabel was a chili pepper. No wonder.

I will have to reinvestigate soon!

Though as I think about it.... I have a very high tolerance to heat and peppers in things I eat... maybe that plays a part.
