That's funny. I was just joking, but I should have known that someone would've tried that by now.

Of the 2 beers, I think BCBS is clearly the better, more balanced beer. It smells exactly like I would imagine a bourbon barrel smelling like. Black Buffalo on the other hand smells like that too, but then they put an extra shot of bourbon in the bottle just for good measure. Just harsher.

Absolutely! Main reason why I love this beer so much. Need to make a run since I only have 4 left.

BBL People's Porter is so good, it's almost too thin to support all that bourbon flavor though.

BCBS definitely, not so much KBS. KBS it's more integrated. Can't wait to try Black Tuesday since I have a couple in my cellar, but at 19.2% and with everyone telling me it benefits from age, I'm letting them sit for a bit.

FW Rufus came out of the barrels pretty hot after 5 years of aging. I love it, but it's polarizing and generally not too well-received around here.

Had the stout the other day with some friends. They all loved it, and i had a hard time finishing it. They also like KY Ale if that tells you anything

It certainly is very popular in Kentucky and the store I work at it sells very well. It is the most unbalanced Bourbon aged beer I have ever had and I have had quite a few.

I think a lot of it has to do with it is from Kentucky, it says Kentucky on the label and it is much higher in ABV than most people who buy it are used to.

I am glad they enjoyed, but their beers are certainly not to my liking at all.

With all their resources and what they think they want to do, you would think they could produce a decent beer. Would much rather have a West Sixth or Country Boy. At this point I would rather have something from one of the other breweries that are getting ready to open.

No kidding, I opened my first bottle of Hardywood Bourbon Sidamo last Friday night. All I could smell was the bourbon...but it still was damn tasty!

Me thinks you don't drink straight whiskey. Have that next to a bourbon county stout and you can't even taste the bourbon in it....yes I did this last night.

I dunno, the smoke flavor in that was huge and the pappy barrels impart a somewhat mellow bourbon relative to the harsher notes from the rot gut bourbon goose island uses. That beer was simply bigger and higher abv than bourbon count (labels be damned).

The 2009 was easily the most mellow one since 06 when they bumped up the abv on those. 07 was HOT and 10 was a bit hot. 11 was hotter than 12. 09 was so damn mellow it was almost too mellow. Oh well...I guess with anything like this there are hot bottles mixed in with the norm.

It varies....a LOT. Some bottles taste like they added vanilla with a sorta hint of oak. This is also not a good thing, but not nearly as bad as the bottles that taste like boiler makers

What? It's like 6% abv or something and rather mellow and smooth. It is also simply amazing to have that much bourbon flavor with so little alcohol, but it shouldn't be considered on this list.

How you gonna hate on Hopfield and McCoy (hope I said that right/typed)? I think their coal porter deal is pretty solid and that english style ipa they did a few years ago was solid. The hoppy amber wasn't bad either. Kentucky ale isn't any good, their "light" is I guess ok for the style but I don't drink that. Their only truly god awful why did you make this crap beer is the bourbon barrel ale. Even the stout is hard to hate, and equally hard to love. I did enjoy the 1 year in barrel version of it. I wouldn't buy it often but it was nice.
