As far as the BA Naked Evil goes, I believe batch 1 is white cap, batch 2 is black cap, and they were released a year apart (2011-2012). I also agree to lay this one down for a year, improves greatly.

Screw the cap color scheme and lack of bottling dates. I'll go back and buy some more tomorrow. Its pretty outrageously cheap whether or not its an old batch or not.

Yep I said eff it and picked up 2 more bottles on the way back from Appleton. I can't argue with the $9.49 price point. I'm pretty sure the store made a mistake as that's the usual price for the regular BORIS, which is nowhere to be seen.

Friend told me that the local grocery had them mislabeled at around $3.50 a bottle. Whoopsie.

I have one that I picked up in a trade with a plain silver cap, is it bogus boris?

The bottles do look very similar with the exception of the words barrel aged I'm pretty sure its identical it wouldn't be a hard mistake to make.

Here in Columbus, the BA BORIS usually goes for $15-$16. Regular BORIS and Cleveland Crusher are around $10 and DORIS is around $12.

There is a stamp on every Hoppin' Frog beer that I have in my cellar and it looks like they use the day of the year code on the bottom of the bottle. Kinda hard to read but I've been able to exact date every one I have. One of mine says 1533 which would be June 02, 2013. Another BORIS I have is the #100 batch brewed in 2011 and that code is 272 11, so a few are slightly different, showing the last 2 digits of the year after a space.
