Nugget Nectar Sightings in MA

I haven't heard or seen anything at the local stores yet but I will report back if I hear anything new. The last I heard was early to mid march for MA.

 

I heard the first Friday in March at a store by me.

 

Usually drops late Feb, but I have heard early March as well this year. For whatever reason, MA seems to be very consistently getting releases later than other parts of the country these days. This is particularly unfortunate for something like Nugget Nectar, which is super hop sensitive and could already be a month old by the time we see it.

 

Well, the only thing I have noticed consistently about Troegs and past Nugget Nectar releases is that the bottles have never been more than 2 weeks old when they hit shelves. Hopefully that stays true and they ship out fresh batches again. I have also noticed the trend with MA lately though, hope it doesn't happen here.

 

It dropped elsewhere last week though. So if we're really still 2-3 weeks way from seeing the first batch, it's going to be close to a month old on MA shelves.

I agree it's always been fresh here, but then MA used to get new beers as fast as anyone. We appear to have major distribution slowness issues with out of market beers.

 

Last year we got it maybe a month later than anyone else from what I recall. And yet the bottles were maybe 2 days old when it arrived. MA will almost definitely be a fresh batch no matter when it arrives.

 

I believe Troegs shares the same MA distributor (Craft Brewers Guild) as the notoriously slow-to-arrive Sierra Nevada. Looks like there's a release party at Meadhall tomorrow.

 

Troegs replied to my friend on Twitter saying it would be hitting Boston stores next week

 

This. We may be getting it a little later, but it doesn't mean it was old. From what I recall, this guy stays around for about a month or so with many batches rolling through. The bombers were last to come last year and they were exceptionally fresh.

 

I'm going to have to get me some of this. Julio's usually gets a lot and Marlborough Wine & Spirits should get some, so hopefully I'll be able to get some before it all gets bought up.

 

Past couple years, enough has showed up (especially at Julios) that you won't need to stress much about getting some before it's all gone.
And, the tickers tend to only grab a single or a 6pack, so NN tends to not have the availability issues of some of the smaller batch stuff.

 

Oh I know. It seemed to go real fast last year though.

 

I had no trouble finding bottles even at the tail end of the release cycle last year. . .

 

Yeah this isn't one you need to stress about. It shows up everywhere that carries Troegs, which includes lots of less popular stores.

 

Maybe it was just Julio's that sold out quick then.

In talking to the Troegs rep the other day, a lot of stuff is later than planned, mostly due to the new brewery. He said that it'll be here in a couple waves, first being end of this week or early next, then the second in another couple weeks.

 

Was told that it should start shipping next week to most stores in MA.
