It is much more than just DOB... It is illegal to sell alcohol to someone who's ID is expired. Even if you are 92, if your ID is expired, you are "legally" not eligible to be served or sold alcohol.

I can appreciate the changes to help with scalping...but has anyone ever seen a press release or anything related to thier charitable contributions? I would feel better shelling out double for a crazy day if I knew 100% of that wasn't going to fuel three Floyd's ego. As far as I can see theyve never mentioned a charity by name, or an amount or percentage. For $30 I would like to see shock collars on all the bros

It is my understanding that FFF is still trying to work out details with Munster as it pertains to pouring non-FFF product off premises. Until issues are worked out (if at all) the address will remain as a contingency option for the event.

Like the Sunday ticket sale date, like the ID checked +1 guest.

I've read the entire thread and have an honest question: will they sell DLD tix Sunday at the brewery at all? I only ask as I'll be driving through Sunday with some friends and want to make sure there won't be a clusterfuck of a line for tix there as we only want to get a beer and some lunch.

If they do sell tickets on site at all, they won't announce it until about an hour beforehand most likely.

At this point no one knows. Best bet is to watch their facebook page as that seems to be the most updated official source of information.

Ya if they sold tickets on site like they did last year, how can they prevent scalpers with the printed name on ticket thing? And as one of the dudes that showed up last year for one of those, I guarantee you half that line was scalpers.

Don't let Chicago's finest discourage you guys! This is a great event and with no scalpers it will be even better this year. Some of the chicago "beeradvocates" are just upset because they won't get money from craiglist sales. Come by me and i'll give you pours of Cantillion and 3F!!

I was thinking about the exact same thing. The only thing i could think of would be if they took your name down when you buy your tickets and put it on a will call type list. So, when you arrive at DLD your ID has to match the name you gave them when you purchased your tickets on site at the pub. And of course you would still have your +1 companion. Pretty much the same thing as online sales except that the people who purchased tix on site would have there name on a will call list as opposed to having their name on the actual ticket. Make sense?

I was actually thinking the same thing. the difference last year was that tix went on sale Saturday, so it was much easier for FFF to simply hold back a bunch of tickets to get people to go onsite to buy tickets, bottles, etc... on Sunday b/c it was still the weekend.

The only way I see them doing something similar to this is to have online ticket sales as planned on 3/17; and "possibly" have a tweet/facebook post the following weekend to get people out to the brewpub to buy tickets in person.

    Just a thought

Even at $30 I'm still looking forward to this. I've had DLD fun there in the past....

Has it ever happened to anyone where the line just to get in the gates has been so long that those in Group A got screwed because it took 2+ hours to get in? Granted, I realize there's a bit of prudent planning involved with showing up early, etc., but I didn't know if someone in Group A ended up getting there at 10 AM and didn't get to buy any DL because they didn't get in until 12:30.

if you had group A tix you could get your bottles with any group. if you had group B tix you could go in with B or C

I know in years past the "official times" were more of a guideline than a hard and fast rule. I was in group C and there were plenty of people in line with me that had group A tickets. I'm pretty sure if you miss the time for your group you can go into a later group and still get your allocation. Might explain why group C was such a shit show last year.

Gotcha, thanks for the clarification. You can get your bottles late, just not early.

So let's say, in theory, I got tickets for Group A, and showed up at 8 PM. Would I still be able to get regular DL? What about the golden tickets for the variants? Are those handed out at random or is it pre-determined based on your ticket number?

In theory you could get Group A DL at 8PM, though it's risky that allotments may have changed by that time. No clue on the golden tickets, but last year (I was late in the last group) myself and a bunch of folks around us got the golden tix.
