So basically, tickets do not guarantee bottles, as opposed to KBS tickets that guarantee three 4-packs?

I thought about making the voyage again this year, but $30 a ticket is just not worth it (extra cost going to local charities is a crock). Hitting up the pre-tasting events the night before or hanging out, outside of the fenced areas, may be more appealing. Although if the event is in the park, not sure this will even be an option.

FFF claims it does, and it probably does. I have never had a problem getting my full amount, even late. Just saying there's always the "chance".

    Golden Tickets guarantee bottles.

The allotment thing happened in 2010 due to forged tickets. I was only able to buy three, but I waited in another line after all ticketed sales ended and bought another two.

Scratch off tickets (chance of winning a golden ticket) are handed out to everyone in line, no matter what group. The issue however becomes if you wait until later in the day/night you run the chance of not having much choice as to what variant you can choose from if you did win a golden ticket.

Winners of golden tickets choose the variant they want. If I remember correctly Vanilla BB and BB were the first to go last year. I had friends in Group C who won golden tickets and only had a choice of Cognac and Cognac de muerte.

I haven't heard of allotment problems in the past two years. One ticket = 4 DLs. 2010 DLD was the low point, it's been much improved since then. And, if you get a lucky golden ticket, it does guarantee a BA bottle, but only what is left. The more popular/sought-after BA bottles (vanilla, bourbon) get snapped up by the earlier groups.

Nice. Thanks for the info, guys. I've never been, and still debating whether to try and get a ticket to make the trek or not (I live outside of GR). Just trying to get a clear picture in my head of how everything goes down.

It's a fun time - albeit hectic, chaotic, crowded - but the big wrinkle is that if the weather is crappy it puts a damper on things because you're pretty much outside the whole time....

Last year, tickets at the brewpub were on sale the day after the online sale, and on April 7. Both were Saturdays. As the 2013 online sale starts on a Sunday, who knows when and if they'll have in-person sales this year. Maybe the day after, maybe the next Saturday, or maybe none at all. I hope they still do for us locals who support them all year long; the in-person ticket sale was the only way we were able to get tickets the past two years.

ya the allotment problem was solved when they switched to actual musictoday tickets and not a super cool looking silk screened thing that could be copied.

Last year's weather was cold and windy, but at least the rain held so it didn't completely kill the fellowship.

What? I went through at the end of C group. All that was left was bourbon. Meaning Cognac, Vanilla, and Muerta got snapped up.

By late afternoon it was downright nice, though I had been drinking heavily....

They let people park at Centennial last year.

Vanilla was the first to go - it went around halfway through group B

They might not sell tickets at the pub this year. I'm thinking they weren't to happy after the ticket sale when locals were selling them on e-bay a hour later.

It would be nice if they only had a certain amount per group. Say you have 500 bottles of one, only sell 100 per time slot.

Does anyone else see "A portion of the proceeds from each ticket will be donated to our festival charities." and think "A portion of the proceeds from each ticket will be donated to the Metalheads of the Region New Official Sacrifice Altar fund?"
