I've got some friends heading to Panama City for spring break and I'm looking to see what they can grab for me while there/on there way there/back. Yes, they are driving, so bringing beers back is easy. Where should they go to find bottle shops/breweries/etc. along the way. They don't want to stray too far off their route but are willing to hook it up if it is within reason....plus a few of them are beer geeks believe it or not.

    Main cities they're hitting:
    St. Louis
    Memphis
    Birmingham
    Montgomery
    etc.

If CCB brews are even an option that would be best but I won't get my hopes up. Thanks everyone.

    Cheers,

    Kyle

you my friend are brave... asking a bunch of, presumably, college students to pick up some quality beers on the way to their week long drunk fest... Whats is the over/under on how many bottles make it back?

CCB just started distributing back to the Panhandle again, so you should be able to find there standard fare (Jai Alai, Maduro Brown, Florida Cracker, and Hotter than Helles Lager) in cans, and possibly there more recent seasonals. Cubano Espresso Style Brown just came out, and you might be able to find various bombers.

People still go to Panama City for spring break?

I'm guessing it won't be very successful but since I am a responsible young adult and don't partake in spring break shenanigans I figured I'd see what they could score while on their trip.

I guess so. Every college kid around here thinks it is the best thing in the world. I would much prefer to go the the mountains for a snowboarding trip where I'm not surrounded by a bunch of ingrates ralphing on each other and arguing over who has bigger muscles or which girl can come home with the least stds. I've calmed down, have a family, an awesome job, and a house of my own whereas most of my friends are still stuck in this phase. Hints the reason I'll be staying in the safety of Nebraska and waiting to see what kind of beer they can actually successfully complete their voyage with. My hopes are not high.
