I think it's at the tap room already, Josh had a new bottle last weekend.

Great...maybe I will stay over in Denver on Tuesday night upon my return from Spring Training so that I can hit the tap room up on Wednesday and bring some bottles back home with me. Consider me excited.

This sounds great. I noticed the label was a bit different than the first Saison Vieille run, but didn't know it had a variation in recipe. I would assume there will still be plenty available next Friday? I don't think I'll make a trip down between now and then.

There will be plenty. Also, you can fully expect for Crooked Stave's beers to change a bunch upon each release. Chad says he's still tweaking pretty much everything. If you didn't like something the first time around, I suggest giving it another shot the next time.

And if we did like something the first time around we are SOL.

Is it $6.99 in the tap room or other stores for a 375ml of saison? Seriously? That dry-hopping of Citra equates to $1/more per bottle? I guess if it sells I have no reason to complain, just think it's crazy, considering I much rather enjoy a lot of other traditional saisons for that price. But of course I'll buy a bottle or two.

Yea, I edited after your quote, I'll probably buy a couple bottles. But I doubt it will be my favorite CS release, and far from my favorite saison.

I chopped my response (which now seems unnecassary and maybe even slightly confusing .

The CS Saison Vielle is not my favorite saison either, but I will stand by it being maybe my favorite offering from Crooked Stave. I do believe I prefer saison's to sours, in general.

This goes back to the La Folie vs. traditional Oud Bruins debate. Although I don't think Crooked Stave is being as authentic as New Belgium when it comes to saisons.

People can buy Fantome Saison online for $14.27/bottle. Considering tax on $6.99 Vieille Saison, that actually makes Fantome Saison cheaper (price/oz).

The original Surette was my favorite CS beer, the new batch is good but not quite the same

Chad is great about feedback from my experience. I doubt he'd ever overhaul a beer unless it wasn't the beer he wanted to put out or it had an overall negative reception. I was mostly referring to small changes that will be on the whole positive.

I don't know this Chad character, but my impression is that he seems to be into the whole creative process of brewing these beers and making them unique. With that kind of mentality, I wouldn't expect him to release the same beer twice.

Even if I might wish he would at times.

I accept it though and I do respect the approach. Also, I got to admit, I am quite excited to try this latest variation of the Vieille.

So where can I get a case of this? Seriously, with what the brett is doing in the original vielle, and knowing what I do about citra, this is going to be phenomenal. Pinapple + mango + mango + musk = AMAZING
