I picked two up at my local, big HEB. I'm not a big IPA fan.. but this dIPA is really dang good.

Not sure if any Austinites are still looking, but the HEB at Oltorf / S. Congress had a couple left as of a few minutes ago. $7.99

CM Westgate still had 3 cases left when I was there on Saturday as well.

Pretty sure that I saw some at Whole Foods Lamar yesterday, too.

I think by the time I get to Austin this will all be gone. No bottles made it out here this time either. I got 2 bottles of the 12-21-12 batch and loved it.

I can hook you up with a bottle if you need it.

    Shipping would be costly though...

12-21-12 was better, so hold on to that fond memory.

Enjoy By 02.15.13 was actually better than 12.21.12 ... believe it or not.

I do agree that 04.01.13 is missing a touch of ZING. I'm not adept enough in hops to tell you what it is, lol. Still an amazing beer though (I've bought, uh, 7 so far)

They've all tasted pretty much the same.

I don't disagree. I only got a taste of 2.15.13, but it was damn good.

I disagree. 4.01.13 has more of a harsh bitterness on the back-end than the last two.

I didn't like 4/1/13 as well as the others, falls well under Ruination 10th as well

I know there can be batch variation, but honestly 12/21 was 3 months ago, memories aren't perfect. I feel that our palates can have daydms that make a certain thing taste better one day to the next.

I just know that every batch I've had has been very similar. I'm sure there are minor variances, but unless you had each batch on multiple days, those differences could be because of something other than the beer.

I was enjoying the new batch this weekend and trying to figure out if the 12.21 was actually better or if I was remembering fondly.

I agree with this.. I had my first bottle of 4-1-13... went back to the same HEB and bought another one.. and drank it within three days of the first... and didn't like it quite as much... I doubt the beer changed.. but something in my taste buds was performing a bit differently it seemed...

Then had a taste of it a week later on tap.. and thought it was probably the best dIPA beer I've ever had fresh.. barely over Endeavour.

I thought 4/1 was better than 9/21, but chalked it up to it being that long ago and other beers I had that night.

Both were pretty darn similar either way.

Does anybody actually know if it's supposed to be the same beer every time or do they change up the recipe a bit every time?

I'm sure there may be a little variation, but it's not even what I'd call a change with how similar the flavor profile is after 5 batches.

I think the idea is that it's the same recipe every time, but the proportions of the hop varieties change with the availability at the time of hopping.
