WTF!!!!!!!! The package must have arrived in PA this morning broken. As of 8:39 am EST, the package was being returned to the sender. This really sucks!!!!!

i'd hate to trade with you then. if you do such a shitty job packing your box and it gets broken and you don't feel at all responsible, that's a philosophy i don't subscribe with. the shipper should always be responsible for sending a box intact. if the package gets "delivered" and someone stole it off your porch, i'd agree with you, but doing a good packing job is 100% the shipper's responsibility. if the package gets broken, oh well, he can take the insurance money on the box to buy you a new box.

yup. the potential risk of trading is that the amazingly well-packed box you send out may not make it to your trade partner which is your problem; not your partner's.

That's incorrect. It's your responsibility to get all bottles to your trading partner in good shape. Period.

The one exception I could see is if the shipping service was clearly at fault, i.e. if a solid shipping container like a 6 bottle shipper was used and a forklift driver put a fork right through it.

That, while unfortunate, is still the original sender's problem. It is the sender's problem until Fedex/UPS record delivery. After that, if it gets stolen off of your porch or something, then you the recipient are shit out of luck.

It's one thing if you use a styro and a forklift prong drove through the middle of the box... But, most broken bottles are a result of shoddy packaging.

how would anyone be able to tell if it's a forklift or not. when the package is that badly damaged, it's tossed. saying "oh, i used styro shippers" doesn't remove culpability. styro shippers break ALL the time.

the only exception to this rule has been if someone is muling/proxying something for you. you basically always supply the shipper they use to send to you, so if your styro shippers sucks, oh well. asking someone who is doing you that favor to assume responsibility is not what anyone who proxies signs up for :slight_frown: hopefully the insurance can help cover the cost of the bottles you lost. if it's 12 bottles, probably not.

You ever seen the videos of post people mishandling packages? It shouldn't be a surprise styro shippers break. Every carrier has those employees that don't give a shit and toss packages at the floor from the truck or over fences, etc, etc. Those are the ones that break the "unbreakable"

Of course, nothing is unbreakable. But I always had the impression that styros are the shipping 'gold standard.'

They definitely are, but the point is that even if you use a styro shipper, if your box breaks you are still responsible for either sending the other guy's box back to him or replacing the beers and shipping again.

in my experience, yea, styros are the 2nd worst out of the 4 bottle shippers that i know of, the worst being the lay-flat cardboard shippers.

the best are the bottle-paq/airo-paq inflatable shippers, the 2nd best being those upright double/triple walled cardboard shippers. just from my experience anyways, and i've done probably too many trades in my short time here.

Well I've been waiting for a box for him since sept , october. He received my 31# box and it took til january almost February for him to ship me 3 bottles. And he shipped it through the post office regular mail 1 broken kern 5th anniversary 1 broken bootleggers knuckle sandwich, and a alpine pure hoppiness that was covered in nasty beer scum! And after I posted he was a dead beat trader he messaged me and said he was sorry and he gave the beers to a friend to ship for him. He said he would make it right but here it is april 4th and still nothings arrived!!! Do not remove this guy from the bad trader list........

Even a guy said that jackskelton is a bruery reserve society trustee for said he's slow on shipping and forgets things so just keep messaging him...

Good luck man I was screwed out of beer from him too!

If a bunch of people are having problems with the same guy then report him. (Submission) the more complaints the easier it'll be to put on the list. If a few people aren't getting packages then there must be a problem somewhere.

Welp, it sucks because I did use Stryofoam packing for this one going out.

I'm the trustee to a few Bruery members and they've been hooking me up with plenty of Styrofoam shippers. and none of theirs have broken. I haven't contacted fedex yet, was going to go tomorrow for another package I was getting out. But yeah.. no idea how it would have broken. :/

In any case, I'm in the stance that shipper is responsible till the person gets it and I do plan on seeing what's salvageable from the package when it comes back and since the deal was "fresh IPA's", that's still going to be what he gets.
