Overpriced rare beers, Example: Younger

I had PtY about six times this year (in San Diego) and a) never paid more than $6, and b) stood in a line no longer than 5 minutes. This was at four different establishments.

 

$31 is ridiculous and I would never pay it.
But... some of you guys will gladly sit in line for 2 hours, or drive 2 hours, or jump through any number of hoops to buy a pint for $6.

If my choices are
a) $30 pint
b) stand in line in the cold for 2 hours
c) drive 50 miles for a pint

I'll take the $30 pint.

 

Can I chose d) none of the above? Or e) pay someone $30 and buy their first pint to wait in line for me

I would say I would pick the $30 option, but I prefer not to award extortion. It is not as easy as, my time = $x.

 

When it hits $10 bucks I switch to 20yr old scotch

Speaking of which, who takes the giant bump of the night on Sunday? I'm predicting something ridiculous like a Tombstone or Pedigree through the roof of the cage to the canvass below.

 

I really do admire american breweries for this kind of attitude.

 

At a local venue, I paid $8 for maybe a 12 oz. I thought it was reasonable.

 

what 20 year old scotch are you drinking for $10? inquiring minds want to know?

 

Maybe $10 a glass?

 

just so i don't miss anything else, what were my other options? $10 a bottle?
