Presale tickets for BA members starts tomorrow for "Savor" in DC. I know this event sells out quickly but I wanted some feedback before I drop $120+ and drive from CT to DC. Anyone been and if so, is it fun/worth it?

1st year (3 years ago) it was a smaller, more personable setting with a great beer selection (everyone brought out the big guns for the innagural event) and you could actually talk to the brewers for a decent amount of time. 2 years ago they increased the ticket count/venue size and the beer/food quality went extremely downhill. Everyone brought a hefe and an IPA so it was pretty boring. Can't speak to last year's event and the $ keep going up, so anyone who has been every year should def comment about last year.

Agree with claspada that the 1st year was great, 2nd not so much. Wouldn't go again, particularly for $120.

Just to clarify, I think he meant Brewer's Association (which is the same as AHA), not BA as in Beer Advocate.

I just picked up my tickets for SAVOR... I really wanted tickets to the Surly salon but they must have sold out IMMEDIATELY, because I was on there right at noon to get tickets and it said the Salon tickets were not in stock.... Did anyone have success getting salon tickets?

I picked up 4 salon tickets to Odell's Woodcut series (Saturday, June 9th). Seeing as bottles were said to retail for $25 a pop, $30 to try Woodcut #2 - #5 didn't seem so bad.

I was lucky enough to snag some tickets. Looks like a lot of people are flipping out right now ... perhaps the pre-sale sold that quick.

We are the original BA (in the beer world).

Yeah, this was DLD-esque, in regards to tickets. I've been the past two years, but the beer lineup this year is just so incredibly mediocre, that I didn't even try. I'll save my $120+ and spend that on the events around town. Those are WAY more worthy of my money.

hmmm... I was literally in front of my computer hitting refresh, refresh, refresh, refersh, etc a couple minutes before noon so I could be on immediately to get the salon tickets, and still no luck... oh well

Guess we lucked out. Team BA created accounts ahead of time and was able to get tickets exactly at noon. We skipped the salons though.

No luck with Odell's or Terror of Terroir salons. Logged in right at noon. Glad to get the regular tickets anyway!

I guess I need a faster computer. I'll have to try again when they go on sale to the public or go ISO.

What I would like to know is there already 8 tickets up for sale on Stub Hub starting at $250 each. Maybe limiting 2 tickets per AHA will give more members a shot at tickets.

Wasn't too interested in any of the salons, but savor should be fun

Ugh, sad that somebody with the ability to get pre sale tickets would put them up on stub hub so quickly.

I got my two tickets right at noon! I passed on the salons, though. Maybe next year
