I tried the new IIPA Rampant by New Belgium a few days ago at a beer bar. It was great of course and I think it's just what your looking for, because it seemed to me almost more malty than bitter.

Didn't look through all the recommendations, so i apologize if this has already been said, but one of my personal favorites is BrewDog's Hardcore IPA. It still has the grapefruit and piney bitterness, but they don't sit in your mouth and punch you over and over again, but instead they co-exist with some sweet and savory caramel and malt. 100% worth a try.

Yeah, indeed those (D)IPA's from southern Tier are quite malty and sweet.

Alright I shouldn't have said it reminded me of,.. though it was a nice seasonal gateway for me from stouts into IPAs.

What are some good malty IPA/DIPA? Less bitter more balanced malt not overly sweet though. Am I just describing Barleywines or Old Ales?

Not to be smart or anything but you could buy just about any DIPA/IPA and let it sit for 3 months, and the hops will fade and the malt will take over. Some style's of IPA's fade faster than others, but 3 month old Nugget Nectar would fit the bill as an example. Any highly fruity grapefruit bomb of an IPA will fade a little faster than a dark piney resinous one. Just my opinion.

SN Torpedo or OB G'Night would both fit the bill nicely, enjoy!

Bootlegger Knuckle Sandwich is a highly rated flagship DIPA that was distributed a few weeks ago and you may still be able to find bottles. I had it on draft and it was very malty.

I dont agree about SN Torpedo being more malty and less bitter but thats my opinion.
