So who is going to do the "random auto-pick"?? After looking at my current bracket I may be better off

With them all being worth 1 point I would Imagine that this thing will be really close since there really isn't that much of a benefit to picking an upset. Should be exciting till the end though.

I have a question for the commissioner on the scoring for the league. It appears that you changed the default scoring for our pool to one point for every correct pick in the pool, total of 63 possible points ?? So if I read this correctly, picking the winner of a round one game counts the same as somebody correctly picking the winners of the Final Four games and the National Champion ?? Yahoo uses a weighted system by default which I think is much better, where our pool has been changed to one point for every correct pick, per this scoring change on our pool setup..................

    Round of 64 1 point
    Round of 32 1 point
    Reg. Semis 1 point
    Reg. Finals 1 point
    Semifinals 1 point
    Championship 1 point
    Maximum Possible
    63 points
Our group uses a custom scoring system, as described above. For comparison, the default Yahoo! scoring, used for the Overall Leaderboard, is 1-2-4-8-16-32.

I think the Yahoo scoring is better, what does everybody else think ?? Correctly picking the winner of a 1-16 matchup counts the same as picking the National Champion in the current format. Just wanted to point it out before the tourney starts........

Prefer to get more points as it goes, but cool either way.

Question though, I couldn't pick the play in games... I take it you get both teams, but no points for play in games?

With each game being 1pt it will also create a cluster F of ties. I could care-less since Ill have a perfect bracket, but for those in 2-6 spots it may be tight race

I tend to agree with the tiered scoring system, otherwise you get ties all over the place and that guy that lost every game in the sweet sixteen ends up besting the guy that guessed the final four and national champ. That's been my experience anyway.

ok than i guess it is settled we will go to the tiered scoring system
i will change it this afternoon when i get home from work

Also I would like to state that when I get home from work today if you have not signed in I will be going to alternates this is to prevent spots from not being filled as I have alternates who are ready to sign in

I just remembered that the winner potentially wins 22 boxes of beer. My wife tripped out when I received 3 in one day.... if I do win, this will be hilariously interesting haha.

I'm fairly positive my wife is hoping that I lose. She'd rather see me ship out some of my stash that any more beer enter the house. It's been a solid four years since I won anything of consequence on March Madness, so she'll likely get her wish.

I just got my last box from winning the College Bowl confidence pool, and my wife breathed a sigh of relief. I haven't had the nerve to tell her that I entered a March Madness pool yet. When I break said news, she will be rooting against me, or have an intervention. Odds are even money on either of those, not sure which side I should take just yet.........

I always just remind my wife that it is a lot less harmful than a drug addiction... extreme, but true.
