Agreed. For the limited smokestack releases, I'd go with: Imperial Stout > Saison-Brett > BBQ = Rye-on-Rye > Chocolate Ale

They're all damn fine beers though.

Ugh, I am sure it is probably $14+ here in Houston.

$15 and some change after tax at Specs here in Austin so probably going to be looking at the same price point in Houston. It's good though...a worthy purchase.

wow, I would not have expected it to cost more there…still worth a try though, really tasty and 11% abv!

All SPECS locations set their own prices. Our limited smokestack releases are always $14 and change. I sure hope it doesn't go up a dollar! I did see Saison-Brett marked down to 8 something yesterday at a local SPECS.

Prices can be all over the place. I commonly find Boulevard's limited Smokestacks for $9 at HEB.

Chocolate Ale was $8 or $9 at Specs when it was around so I'm not sure how they figure the price point. Rye on Rye has been the most expensive selection I have ever purchased in the Smokestack series. Still haven't seen the Saison-Brett but haven't looked around for about a week...

Yea, I can see that. Several bottle shops I used to go to but found some less expensive ones that I frequent now, and more selection I might add. Cheers ~

I saw the Saison-Brett here today after work, but didn't notice the price, just that it was rated a 99. Had my eyes set on some local brews I haven't tried yet.

Chocolate Ale is usually 8 or 9. A fair price for Brett and BBQ was around 12. The Alon HEB(San Antonio) had both for 9.

I was very dissapointed with Gabriels in San Antonio on this one. HEB had it for $9change but sold out. I Then went to Gabriels who the day before also had it for $9 something. I got two bottles and was told at the register that it was now $12.99, way not cool in my opinion! I left the two bottles at the checkout and went across the street and spent $50 on beer. Too bad that greed got the best of them. I might want the beer but I wont be treated like your bitch.

Yeah, we were all a bit shocked by the sudden price jump. Sorry about that.

The same as any other Smoke Stack keg I've purchased. It was actually cheaper than a case (which I also got for trading purposes) and has twice the ounces of beer.

The RoR is a little hot right now. I am probably going to set this keg in my cellaring chamber for a while to mellow out.

We should stage a bloody coup and declare Scotty Dictator for Life of Gabriels on 1604.

Has anyone seen this is DFW yet? I heard Friday of last week but didn't hear anything about it since then.

STILL some available at the Specs on Brodie in Austin. Picked up a bottle today, and it was somewhere in the $15 range, if I recall. Hesitant to pay that much, but I'll try, figuring that I'm just flipping the Chocolate Ale refund plus a few bucks more to give this one a go.
