I stopped by TW today in Fort Worth, Texas and by surprise bought two bottles of David Walker autographed bottles of Firestone Walker's Double Jack. They just started distributing FW here and I stopped by to grab some. I didn't realize it until the helpful guy that works there pointed it out that those two bombers were signed in silver sharpie ink. I was super excited, but kind of confused on what I should do with these bottles. I have been into craft beer for quite a while, but just never really knew about this site until a few months ago. I just read and observed for a while before creating my own log in. To make a long story short, I see that most people on here have great insight and most of the time have great input. What would you do with these two bottles if you had them. I am just curious as I immediately put them up thinking that was the best idea for now. Any ideas would be helpful. Maybe I am just asking a dumb question here, but I am hesitant to just drink them and save the bottles. What would you do????

I would drink the beer and recycle the bottles.

As they've been rolling out FW across Texas, David Walker has been attending 5-6 events in each city (Austin, DFW and then will be Houston) and he autographs the bottles at all of these events. I dont know that they have much "value" in that he is signing hundreds of bottles, but I DO think they're pretty cool, and would probably keep the bottle after I've had the beer.

I would drink the beer and throw the bottle in recycling.
I'm not an autograph guy though.

Yeah, I wasn't really concerned about the value for resale or trade. It was more a question of what people would do in the same situation. I wouldn't want to get rid of something like that anyway. I just couldn't decide if I should just drink it. I bought another one that doesn't have a signature on it and it is outstanding. Trying to decide if I should drink those other two this weekend or hang on to them and leave them as is.

I can't speak for David Walker but I feel like if I where a brewer I wouldn't sign bottles of my beer if that meant people weren't gonna drink it.

Definitely, definitely drink it. It does sound pretty cool tho so I'd probably pop the cap back on and save the bottles. Keeping it as a true collectible, it's no more valuable full than empty so don't deprive yourself.

I've had a Double Jack. Drink it fresh. Same level, if not better than PtE

I recieved a bottle of $28 Makers Mark that came out during Obama's first election as a gift. I have yet to crack it, for no reason, and now I've seen unopened bottles be bought by collectors on Ebay going for $80. It has Red, white and blue wax sealer, and a different label, but beats me why it's worth more

No need to be petulant. I just wanted to see what others would do if they came across a signed bottle. Lots of people save autographed items. I just thought it was kind of cool.

In this picture he's thinking, "Maybe someday I'll autograph some bottles to illustrate my self importance".

I save memorable bottles in general, whether it be something I got on a memorable occasion or something that was particularly good or something I won't have again, etc. (Kinda arbitrary, really.) So, that said, I'd save one of these. I don't have a particularly good place for them at the moment, but I intend to have a bar/room to display them in at some point.

Pliny is better, but Double Jack is not far behind. Excellent and readily available.

And to the OP, drink it and save the bottle. If you stop caring about it down the road then recycle it.

well then thats up to you, if you think it's cool you might as well keep it. I was giving my point of view. I don't even try to get autographs from pro athletes when given the chance, they don't mean much to me unless their worth something, and very few autographs are worth anything.

That's cool, but...nope. Just don't want to add any degrees of difficulty to this "hobby". I'm good just drinkin' 'em.

I'd drink the beer and then throw the bottle on a shelf. A signature like this isn't about being worth money, it's just neat.
