2nded. The food was awesome when I went. I did have a Saint Arnold something beer when I went to. It was super cold as advertised, but I really didn't know much about beer at that point.

Also the bar wenches weren't too shabby either...

Free scenic views. I don't expect little blond teenie boopers to know anything about the beer.

DR 2 was made so long ago, and a completely different recipe that is would be silly to compare the two. I have had DR2 a hand full of times, though even those were years old. Not to mention it is a blend from two different fermenters with two different yeasts.

DR2 and DR13 are miles apart...

had tons of DR2 fresh and its a different animal completely..

What about the fact that DR 13 and Rochefort, Westy, and St. Bernadus have all been thrown around in the same sentense ( forgive my spelling). We are comparing DR13 to some of the greatest Quads/beers in the world.......... Just sayin.

You must like spicy food then. The one in round rocks food is nothing but spicy this or that. I think their nutty brewnette is decent though.

I do love spicy food, but I distinctly remember a non-spicy laden menu. Think I got a burger or something when I went. Just remember it being really tasty, and everyone in my party having to valet park because of their ridiculously tiny parking lot and the restaurant is always packed.

Then again, non spicy food to me can be pretty spicy

I got the philly cheese steak and even that was spiced and the fries were "hot" fries. Just not my cup 'o tea, but im getting a little better now that ive been here 3+ years. Gotta get used to spicy someday since its all around here

Just popped a DR13. Very nice. Not going to do a full-on review for it just yet though. The beer definitely peaks in flavor as it warms up. Dangerously drinkable for the ABV with a nice touch of warmth in the finish. I wish it was still colder as this would be a perfect "Texas winter" beer!

Really wouldn't mind buying or trading for a whole case of this now. I think it'll develop very nicely like DR12 did.

Yeah the HEB on potranco and 1604 had a ton when i was there earlier. The 1604 and Bandera probably still has some.

I still have 3 bombers of DR12 left and really want to pop one open but a few people I know who tried it recently told me to hold off..

I think I want to trade a bomber of DR12 cause I am not sure I want to hold on to 3 for another year minimum. Anyone want to trade let me know..

I ended up picking up a six pack and drank one on release day. DR13 is just not a style I like.. with that said I actually did not hate it. I ended up giving away 4 of the 12oz'ers to friends and kept 1 for aging.
