Bill, are you having the Blue from the big, corked bottle or the smaller bottles? Most folks say they're the same but I think the big corked one is better, somehow. Could just be the presentation, dunno. Interesting that people say it has been downgraded over the years. Tastes still the same to me, at least. Love the Blue and Red, never cared for the tripel.

Prunes, dried fig, rum and raisin chocolate backed by sweet malt and alcohol sweetness with an earthy rounded finish. Carbonation is lively and brings balance to the mouth feel and taste. Enjoys a well earned reputation.

    Start drinking man!

I like the dubbel (red) too. Has a nice earthy sublime taste.

Drink a few chalices of Chimay, and all confusion will melt into the ether!

Are you drinking or being polite and waiting for Zimbo? You've got two bottles right? Crack one now with us and the other one in three hours time with Zimbo.

Zimbo welcome to your tasting. What time is it in Scotland now and what time is GMT now?

So do I drink my 1986 250th anniversary edition, my 2000 millennium edition or the new 2012 commemorative edition?

Well, it's Torpedo for me right now. I'll crack the mighty Belgian stuff upon the official announcement. I defer to the Scots. As Ian Stewart once said, they're short but they are some tough mean little boogers.

Zimbo correct me if I'm wrong but it is 8:14 pm GMT and 8:14 pm Scottish time. There is no difference between GMT and Scottish time. Why do I feel like I'm being punked.

    Help me Bitterbill.

C'mon Zimbo - fire it up. And kingofhop put down the Torpedo and open the Chimay.

I just did with my link. BA uses GMT/UT on the site and well, being an amateur astronomer, we always use UT for our observing notes.
