You know you just drank a great IPA when you are finished and look at the side of the glass and can count exactly how many sips you took due to perfect rings of lacing.

When you think I've bought enough or when you worry that you'll never have it again.

When you're already planning to drink it at the birth of your firstborn & you are, um, shall we say, more than single.

You check to make sure it isn't a seasonal beer, then you feel sad when you find it is.

You know a beer is really good when you say wow at the first taste, without realizing it. Only four beers gave me the wow woody, FBS, PtE, NN and an Evil Twin homebrew.

...it's hard to bring yourself to drinking it because you know that it'll be gone. (even if it's only temporary and you can buy a new one)

When you choke out your best friend because it's your birthday and rightfully yours, become the local pariah, go deep into the nearest mountain so you can age it for a few hundred years while having full conversations with it in the dark, all the while referring to it as "my precious"....

Only happened to me a couple times, but at least I knew they were keepers

Clearly you love that beer; I can't stand it (it's gotta be the Summit hops because I love Nelson Sauvin).

When you instantly think about hugging the brewmaster who put such a concoction together. As you take each sip you can't help but appreciate what has gone into making it.

You get that hop-taste memory periodically throughout the day.

You mean like when you smell hot chicken wings? I didn't think beer could do that.
