Was it this or were they just bent about scalpers stealing some of their profits in prior years? I think we're giving FFF too much credit in saying that they care about their customers given their general "MO".

You could eliminate the secondary market without eliminating guest tickets...just require the guest's name at the time of purchase.

Because they know a lot of the scalping is done by IP tickets. Its nice of three Floyd's to open tickets to the whole world. My buddy from Europe is going to try and make it next year.

Making tickets sales better or not has no bearing on Supply and Demand.

Sure didn't sound like constructive criticism to me. Sounds like any number of people on here who feel that if Three Floyds doesn't do what they feel they should do then they are doing things wrong. I have seen people like you on here plenty of times before. There will be plenty more.

    Sounds good.

It's a good idea but musictoday is not set up to handle this feature. I doubt any ticket agency has the ability to do this via online sales.

They could put your name on both tickets just like on the online sales, that way your guest would have to be with you. I guess there's probably some "guest" scalpers out there.

OK, so you agree that your original point about S&D is irreverent.

Ahh thank goodness, I was beginning to think I was the only person left on this rock.

The point of IP sales is to take care of locals. They don't want people to buy tickets just to have their buddies from all over to take tickets out of the hand of locals. If you are a local you should be able to make it in the pub for the ticket release.
They also don't want someone selling "you can be my guest" deals which are much more likely if they live right by the pub.
I am very happy with the changes three Floyd's has made and all true beer advocates are too. I'm not greedy I'd be content with one ticket.
If you don't get a ticket I really hope u do! Try next Sunday.

No I am saying that your post has no bearing on Supply and Demand.

I still don't see why you have different rules for locals than you do for the online sales. I also don't see why "you can be my guest" deals are more likely for those that are locals vs others that buy them online and are planning to be there that day as well.

I feel that locals should get at least as much of a shot at buying for a guest. I get that eliminating that option eliminates the secondary market for those guest spots...but I think that if you're gonna do that for the in person sale...it's only reasonable to do it for the online sale as well.

Because locals are by the brewery. Online could be anywhere in the world. Most scalpers don't care to attend the event, they just want money.

I think they did a great job preventing scalpers from eating up all the tickets this year. My group consists of ten people. Five of us were available to buy tickets. We all were able to get our tickets without any problems. The website handled beautifully compared to last year. Last year, the website was pretty much crashed and you had to pray your order went through. This year's ordeal took me less than five minutes.

I swear I had to enter two names when buying FoBAB tickets, one for me and one for the DD ticket I bought for my GF.

Also, it's two extra fields: Name on Ticket 1 and Name on Ticket 2. Pretty straightforward.

I think it's a good idea to print the name of the purchaser on the ticket but would be a bad idea to make you also name your guest. If you are going then you should be able to bring whoever you want. The person I was planning to bring had something come up and can't go so I was able to offer the extra ticket to another BA who was not lucky enough to get a ticket. That would not have been possible if I had to name my guest at the time of the purchase. Sometimes life happens.

Didn't say it was a good idea. Just said it was possible
