Yeah I'm pretty upset myself!! Supposedly, they're already out of majority of the FW beers already.
Let's see what happens, they said we will get some soon though.

Tell them to take it off the shelf in Chicago and other lame markets that aren't selling it and send it here.

Who is the distro in DFW again? I know I've heard from 2 beer guys in Austin that their allocation is based on how much Budweiser they sell. Don't sell a lot of Bud? You get last pick of FW releases.

    Andrews.

And the situation you are describing should be illegal. Allotments for beer company X should not be tied to beer sales of company Z but in a practical sense as long as this policy isn't formalized its impossible to stop. I do not believe Andrews is doing this in this case FWIW.

Not saying that's happening in DFW... I was kidding, for the most part.

Just seems weird that the HEB closest to UT campus got the one case of Sucaba delivered to Austin last week though.

I'm sure there's no correlation there.

HEB Burleson is getting cases of the limited stuff I believe. In part because David Walker will be there and in part because HEB in Texas represents a huge opportunity for beer in TX. They have the buying power and a 5-10 plan for growth that demands any new brewery pay homage. This is why all those Austin HeB's also recieved tons of Abyss. (Everything above is just an opinion though)

Oh I am sure it happens, "hijacking" seems like it'll happen more often since we are getting more "whales" in nowadays. And can use those to get distribution of other products.

Read in another forum that they were getting a case of 16th (6 bottles). He didn't specify on Sucaba, etc., but mentioned the Velvet Merlin may be limited as well due to it being a seasonal beer near the end of its run. Tasting/signing from 11-12 tomorrow I believe.

Hopefully this is an isolated example. Andrews needs to be smart with these releases and not treat them as rewards for volume...I don't suspect any distributor has the real desire to figure out a better system then volume but hopefully ones exists for rewarding loyal businesses over the Wal-Mart beer retailers
