4 year old Darkness. It was well past it's prime and tasted of black licorice and vodka :slight_frown:

13 year-old Coors light. 1997 can drank in 2010. Taste more like malt liquor - so I'd say it improved. Also got to sample Budweiser Millennium (2000) and a few other macro "vintages" that my friend found in his grandparents' basement.

This bottle was my oldest as well. Thanks a lot, Knifestyles!

Try the 1987 Ph Vandenstock. No carbonation at all but still quite a pleasant surprise.

Went to a cool restrauant on Saturday with a some nice vintage offerings

    We had:
    1993 Schultheiss Berliner Weisse
    1996 Batch 21 Adam
    1997 Courage RIS
2006 De Dolle Oerbier Special Reserva

The courage was a little soy saucey and Adam was a bit grassy but all in all, everything was great.

This sounds too late for a Courage RIS- pretty sure the last vintage was 1993 (until the recent W&Y revival).

    Once again jesskidden is correct!
I think I got the two mixed up, pretty sure it was

    1993 Courage RIS
    1996 Batch 21 Adam
    1997 Schultheiss Berliner Weisse

A 25 years old Chimay (compared with a 11 and a 6 years old bottles). The 6 years old was probably as its best, but the 25 years old was as carbonated as a fresh one and had developed very fine complex aromas, very different from the 6 years old, but also more distinct from a fresh Chimay. It was also far better than the 11 years old (I guess it is a random game at this point).
I've also just had a 8 years old Westvleteren 8 yesterday. It had a massive head with an impressive retention. It had also develop deep, strong and complex aromas never seen in an 8 before. One of the best beers I've ever had.

1984 Westy Extra 8. Overly oxidized bad still quite tasty.

I think my oldest beer is only a 2007 3F Vintage Gueuze, drank this year! I need to get hold of some older bottles!!!

1997 Boon Framboise - was surprisingly good, suspect the age might've actually moderated some of the overly-sweet character I'd have expected from it if it were newer.

Anderson Valley Brother's David Triple from about 2002 just a few months ago. It was quite funky and tasted great, but only needed to sample a few sips. Got to try it against the most recent edition.
