I have some Nitro from about a year ago, anyone have any idea how this ages?

A very timely thread indeed, as I happen by coincidence to be drinking a Left Hand non-nitro right now.

I am not a fan of the nitro version, co2 all the way.

Nitro gets my vote, creates one of the more frothy creamy heads I've had for a stout. So glad this beer is now distributed in Michigan.

Prefer the classic, but honestly think both are overrated.

This is one of those "exceptions to the rule" were the nitro improves the beer. Both are good but I'd give the nitro version the edge.

I have had the nitro on tap at the Left Hand brewery. That was a glorious day  Nitro all the way.

That is strange that you sell out of the regular, at my store they have trouble keeping nitro on the shelf. Even though the nitro is 3 dollars more per 6pk. My vote is obviously the Nitro

I'd go with the Nitro Stout for two reasons: 1: It's one of the best milk stouts I've ever had. and 2: American Gladiator's very own Nitro would be pleased.

Have both styles in my fridge and have done several side by sides in the last 7 days and have finally decided that I prefer the regular over the creaminess of the nitro. Both are fantastic and I have no problem drinking either of them but I just find the non-nitro to have a little more roast flavor which just edges out the nitro for me. This is a great gateway beer for non-craft drinkers as well. So far have 3 buddies that everytime I come by is more than happy to drink one or two. So far 2 of 3 of them have preferred non-nitro as well and one of the two absolutely will not drink the nitro because he says he gets more of a bitter coffee flavor from it (can't say I agree with this).

To me, while Nitro lends itself to a smooth mouth feel, I think it also thins it out. I prefer my stouts a bit more chewy.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll buy a regular as I already have a nitro. I'll try that out.

It is a great gateway beer for non-craft lovers. I've gotten a few people to try by telling them "it's like fizzy choclate milk." It obviously NOT:wink: , but I've never had any complain after they give it a chance.

I had my first bottle of Nitro last night and was blown away. How the hell did they pull off a nitro bottle when Guinness needs a widget?
