I am clueless to the wild ale selection Oklahoma offers. I had It's Alive the other day by Mikkeller which i think is technically a wild ale or at least the bottle says so. Any others? This is a style I haven't tried really any help would be great.

Well, Brett is wild, so It's Alive would be wild. Redbud's Cuvee Four, Boulevard's Saison Brett, Orval and Ommegang's Aphrodite would be four other available Brett beers.

The new Jolly Pumpkin offerings are the best wild ales in Oklahoma in my opinion (besides Cuvee 4, of course), especially La Roja. COOP's Wheat Wine that is supposed to be out soon was fermented with the Drie Fonteinen yeast I believe, so it should fall under the "American Wild Ale" category. I tasted it months ago while it was still aging, and it was starting to develop a nice tartness, but the brett hadn't really developed yet.

Oro de Calabaza is another Brett beer to add to our growing list of Wilds,
& if your into Brett, then this one is the way to go. It's ever prevalent & delicious.

    So...DNR.

I opened a bottle a week or so ago--a replacement for a completely flat bottle--and the carbonation was thankfully perfect.

More importantly, the beer was fantastic. I don't recall it ever being quite that balanced when I've had it on tap over the past couple of years. It's still sweet, but the right amount of sweet, with lots of flavors working together very well. A very, very nice beer.

I had a bottle a few weeks ago, really enjoyed it. I believe I will snag several bottles the next time I come across it

I need some advice. I have a friend headed up to KC next week and they agreed to make it a beer run for me. Aside from Stone Beers, which I'm very excited about, what other beers should I have him look for that we can't get here in OK? Anyone?

You're in luck, there. I think I've seen it just about everywhere I stop in recently. It seems to me that COOP has been doing a good job at keeping it stocked. Native Amber and Horny Toad, too, for that matter.

I was in search of a program that I could upload my cellar online without having to simply plug it in a spreadsheet. I came across an iphone app Id like to share. Its called beer vault. Its on sale right now for 99 cents. You can plug in the brewery, beer, vintage, location, notes, quantity and price of each beer. It logs the beers in your phone and you have easy access to what all your have in your cellar. You can also add tasting notes for each beer once you've drank them as well as beer/tasting events. Once you drink a beer, theres a button for "drink a beer" and it simply removes it from your cellar. There alot this app has that I have not explored yet but its defiantly worth the dollar I paid for it. You can "sync" the beers and than upload them all, it will email you a spread sheet of every beer in your cellar in alphabetical order. Exactly what I was looking for. Does any one else have this app?
    Just thought Id share.

I actually downloaded this app a few weeks ago. For a dollar it works very well! I tend to forget to update it though when I get new beers or drink ones that I had set aside. Great app though!

This will ber a long list: Bells, Founders, Green Flash, Grand Teton, Goose Island, Odelll, Avery, Deschutes, Schafly's, Free State, & Hopping Frog on The KS side. Many others I'm forgetting but that's what I saw in Mizzou today...

2nd Street Wine Company will post on Facebook that "The Eagle Has Landed" but is not to specific. I appreciate this as it is directed to beer geek following that shops at this store.

Speaking of Ska, I was told by a trustworthy source that it was headed to OK soon, but that was a good 8 months ago. Anyone have any more info?

One of the founders of Ska is from Tulsa. He has said that we are high on the list for future distribution, no timeline though.
