If it wasn't for real bad luck, Yea, these funky, sour, vinegar beers have got to stop! Ruins my palate for the good stuff…I won't quit trying though! I managed to choke down about a 1/3 of it, couldn't take anymore…down for the count.

Haha that sucks man because the Samuel Smith beers are usually very good. I like the Nut Brown Ale, but my favorite has to be the Oatmeal Stout!

That's what caused me to try this, their Oatmeal Stout is delicious! Nearly bought one of them since it is kind of cool outside today compared to the upper 80's we've been having, but thought, I need to try something new…famous last words! Cheers bro ~

I enjoy this DIPA. Hoppy, but a bit drier, not as citrusy and fruity....

Currently sipping on Jones Dog...the third release from Pipeworks Brewing Co. here in Chicago. A milk stout brewed with cacoa nibs...

Just picked up a six pack of SA Alpine Spring. First time trying it. We'll see how it goes.

There are definitely some estery/hoppy tart elements going on in Nut Brown.

I have to say I was not expecting that! For some reason I figured it would be more stout like, threw me for a loop…thanks for the info. Maybe that sort of flavor will grow on me like hops did, but for now it's hard to swallow.

That's what I was thinking, overwhelming, couldn't taste anything malty or nutty at all, just harsh vinegar and sour.

Weird. Who ever heard of traditional English beers having infection problems (traditionally-brewed Old Ales excluded)? Not doubting you at all, just seems very unexpected.

I think it's international brewing intrigue. The Belgians are secretly jealous of the English again, and they sabotaged old school breweries like Sam Smith's with every Flanders bug they could muster.
