Late Night BeerAdvocate Tuesday

Is it just me, or does a really good Pale Ale sound good right about now? Somethin' not too hoppy, not too malty, but just about right and balanced? Just a good "quaffable" (god I hate that word) beer? Not too cold, not too warm, but Just about Right? in a pint glass, of course.

 

Started with a Nugget Nectar now drinking a KBS and then a Hopslam and maybe another Nectar if I feel the need to! Salud!

Flying Dog Gonzo..

This beer is actually blowing me away. I wasnt expecting this beer at all.

It reminds me of a lighter version of BCBS with more carbonation. Outstanding porter!

 

Nothing for me tonite, starting day 1 of 8 at work...enjoy the brews fellow BA's...

Prima Pils for me

 

Decided to go ahead and crack this bottle of vampire slayer, because like I said, it's my Friday night, got the next 2 days off. So here's the count for now, Dales Pale Ale, Maui Coconut Porter, Lagunitas IPA, Sucaba, and now this vampire slayer, it's an interesting imperial stout, it's good, but might be a tad too smoky for me in the finish. In other news, I think I'm in love with this Firestone Walker glass I got today.....look at the pictures.

 

Seriously...not to just tack on and rack up posts but this beer is intensely great, imo.

I havent been blown away by a beer like this in a long time.

Flying Dog makes some good brew, love their artwork too…

 

There art work is pretty neat. And this is the first beer i have had from them. I actually went looking for Kujo but didnt see it and decided id give this a whirl. Im glad i did...i should stock up. Not bad for 8.99, not bad at all.

 

Third and Long at 3rd and 35th. I think they have a running special $3 'craft pints' on Tuesdays. The other options were Long Trail IPA. Magic Hat Black IPA, Brooklyn Pennant Ale,...some other IPA and NN.

 

Just checked out their page, seems like an interesting place to find Nugget Nectar.

 

It is. I stumbled upon it. It is not a craft beer bar and most of the people seemed to be drinking full price pints of Guinness and bottles of light beer. The little hand written signs listing the craft pint specials called it Nectar Nugget.
