Someone tell me why untappd is worth my time?

That's a relief, I was about to schedule an intervention.

To answer Ray, I use it to keep track of what I've had and when, but it's also fun to see what others are drinking. It's not a huge timesink, but it's also not life-changing or anything.

 

Ticking? Am I just dumb? What does that mean?

 

It's guaranteed to add inches to your dick, it puts hair on your chest, it's what all the cool kids are doing, even the hipsters love it, it's mother approved and kids love it, no assembly required, and As seen on TV are all good reasons.

Otherwise, it's a nice social app to keep track of your beer ticks and see what friends are drinking. You can use it to see what's recently been checked-in in your area bars, etc. I use it to post to facebook and twitter because I like folks to think I'm a whino.

Ticking is just fancy man language for keeping track of the beers you've had

 

Beer Ticking is the ancient sport of drinking as many different beers as you can possibly drink in as many different places and recording each different beer.

Hence a Ticker has to tick!

 

Hahaha, yes I downloaded last week then freaked out when I saw what it was. I don't like the whole FB thing, and it seems similar just for beer.

 

Just a good record keeper and way to keep up with other beer drinking friends. It's not like Facebook, you don't get dumb ass recipes, cry baby support shit, friends posting about their toe fungus, etc. Just beer.

 

Pffft. Alcohol is not supposed to be social.

 

My goodness, that just seems like a lot of work.

I guess that's the reason I was the last of my friends to get a FB, the first to delete it. It's why I created an account here years ago, then got rid of it. Then lurked for years, and finally gave it a go again.

We'll see. I prefer just to drink good beer and meet good people. Preferably in real life. I work on computers all day, not really my thing after.

I think I'm afraid to know how many I've drank.

 

I have friends who joined a less than two years ago ticking around 1500 unique beers since then. Being no where near that gives me confidence that I'm ok.
