    Hi All-

I'm brewing the La Petite Orange recipe from NorthernBrewer tonight. Below is the recipe:

I'm just wondering, if I add the orange zest at flameout, should I leave the orange zest in the primary during fermentation or should I filter out the zest when transfering wort to my fermentor?

    Any help/advice is much appreciated!

If you normally strain your wort on its way to the fermenter, then I'd still do it. If not, I wouldn't sweat it. Either way, there's no need to actually filter.

I wouldn't worry about leaving it in there, but otherwise "what Vikeman said."

I recently brewed this and added at flame out. The only problem was the zest plugged up my ball valve when transferring it to the Carboy. I did have quite a bit in my fermentor after I cleared the clog but it did not harm the beer at all. This is a GREAT brew you are in for a treat!
