Can someone tell me why KBS is so limited here in western PA. I can remember a few years ago it was not a problem with buying a whole case. I understand it has grown in popularity since then, but my understanding is that production has increased as well. Yet we here in Pitt still only get like 8 cases for the whole city. Am I missing something?

Yeah founders moved into more states or areas within states so though they made more each area still gets less.

Yea but I have an easier time finding the Backstage Series than I do KBS. Every Backstage series release I have purchased multiple bottles. Do those beers not get distributed to all the same states as KBS does? Ive actually stopped buying KBS because you have to run all over the city to get 1 12oz bottle at 12 different stores.

I was told today that there is no Dayman coming to Pittsburgh by the Wholesale Distributor. It sucks but there are other beers to enjoy!! There are more cases of KBS in the area but lots of them go out to distributors and they may keep it for themselves or sell to friends. Shaler Giant Eagle sold out today.... well actually there was one bottle left when I left but I suspect it is probably gone.

If I was in a city that was outside of the brewery's distribution channel and the store had to personally purchase the beer while on their own, I could see that kind of pricing (the price that House of 1000 Beers charge for Heady Topper for example), but good lord, how in the hell can they justify charging more than double the price that a store 10 minutes away charges?

I've found and bought 4 bottles of Bolt Cutter when it was out easier than I've bought KBS in this city. That is to say, I've actually found Bolt Cutter and never once held a bottle of KBS in my hands. I honestly don't get it either. Hopefully I get a call from Whole Foods about some soon or else I guess it's another years' wait.

The reason for this is KBS is f-ing awesome and Bolt Cutter is not good

6 Pack was charging $15/bottle last year. Still had some on the shelves several weeks after release. Beer Nutz was only charging around $10/bottle last year and sold out in a few hours.

So is all normal priced KBS gone already or did just the giant eagles get their shipments first?

GE south hills got their case today, 1 bottle limit. There were about 12-13 left at noon. McNeilly 6 packs got some, but theyre charging $15/bottle. They can keep it. Theres a few other places that say they are getting some, but i expect gouging from them as well. Giant eagle seems to be the only place in the area not overcharging.

I wonder if people realize that when the actually buy the overpriced bottles that they are simply saying; "This beer is too cheap, next year charge me more." It would be awesome if all the places that were charging $10+ had KBS just sitting on shelves until like Oct. asking why is nobody buying this overpriced beer.

Pitt’s Dogg’n has it every time I am in there. They have one bottle behind the counter for $19.99. Once you buy it and leave, they replace it for the next sucker. They probably have a whole case in there year round.
