Being totally honest, if people really drive around to a bunch of liquor stores in Chicagoland, they're better off just making one direct trip up north. I was looking to grab some New Glarus brews today, and I went into a small bottle shop that had all of their KBS on the shelf with a 2 bottle limit at $5.50 each. Also had loads of Peruvian Morning and BBBW just sitting on the shelves.

Stopped at Vav's place for a bottle and saw Noble Grape posted they had it on Twitter while I was waiting in line. Got there in time, but they wanted $10 before tax. Plus he tried to sell me a something else off the shelf and told me "You know there's other beers out there right?" I said yep, and there's other beer stores as well...

So much for Founders claim that they were releasing three to four times as much KBS this year. What a joke. They still can't release a respectable amount of KBS in their current distribution footprint and they are expanding it...

What store was it, out of curiosity? I go to a small store near the border as well, wondering if its the same place.

Anthony is fantastic, knowledgeable and great ambassador for craft beer. However, I have to say I disagree with your comments on Jeremy. He worked hard to take care of the loyal customers. Perhaps the craft beer community in the area did get too large, but it simply comes down to oft-debated issue, (which I am not trying to re-ignite), of businesses taking care of their best clients or allowing truck-chasers to walk in and grab limited releases and nothing else. Jeremy had a system that (I thought) worked, but GE Binny's has since moved on from it.

There is a liquor store on the corner of Halsted and Diversey (sorry, don't know the name) that has BCBS on the shelf for $23.99 as of yesterday. Enjoy!

Edit for back-to-back posts from GUNNERS!

Jeremy was great, as after his email came out I could email him back and get everything I wanted because I was a regular but I started to feel dirty when I'd come in a few hours later and people walking in were rejected as I walked out with my overflowing arms of beer. Shortly after his departure I was talking to the crew and they showed me the shelves and shelves of stuff he was holding for people for weeks. I think if anything the collective 'we' took advantage of him. I do often wonder where he is these days.........

It was Brew Wine Spirits in Pewaukee. Quite a ways from the border but a nice area.

Drove to about 4 places yesterday, all out or didn't get it yet.

Then saw a place on Facebook had it, 10 minutes away. But they wanted $10 a bottle, 1 bottle limit. Decided it wasn't worth it.

Totally fair point. I always made it a point to immediately come in and pick up anything he set aside for me, knowing that it was a favor, and not wanting to take advantage of it. That is too bad, and I agree that it appears that the collective "we" took advantage of the situation.

Hey Vav, if you see this, how long did KBS last at your shop?

The fact that many places sold out fast doesn't surprise me. Binny's in LP (Vav) got 4 cases and I'd easily assume he's a big(largest?) account in the chicagoland area. I'd be surprised if other accounts got more than 2 cases.

It was closer to 15, I made it there in about 35-40 mins after the tweet went out and they said it was gone 15 minutes ago.

I've been around McHenry county area, no one has it! I don't think Founders had that much to sell, some say they were claiming increased production. It didn't show up here, don't have the time to spend all day driving around. I'm happy with the Pliny's that showed up from my CA cuz.

Walked into a shop in Evanston. They had singles, wrapped with another beer (I didnt check super closely what it was) from some other brewery (not Founders), for 22$. I asked if they had any separated, even singles. They informed me that they did not, and that the beer "came that way" which is a load of crap. I walked out. Shame, they had a lot of FFF stuff that other places around here dont have, but Im not supporting a shop that outright lies to me.
