KBS Sightings in NYC

    Yeah, I got my 3 bottles yesterday, but it took me nearly 2 hours of running (literally) from bottle shop to bottle shop (I think I made it in record time from Top Hops to Alphabet City Beer Co) collecting one bottle at a time. I gave one bottle to another BAer, and I'll probably send another to my Bruery Trustee, but I'm content with 1 bottle.

    Tons of confusion calling WF Columbus today... they werent getting then they were, then not til tomorrow, but as said they ended up getting it in, i guess the rep said not until tomorrow, but it ended up being on on the truck. The last time I called the guy said it did arrive and he had 1 4pk left, said i would be right there, ran and made it up in 5 minutes, and he held it for me so i was able to split with another co-worker. Last year they also sold by 4pk.

    Wasn't Founder's supposed to be increasing capacity so there would be more available this year? It doesn't seem like that happened...

    they also increased their markets, so more to go around, but more places getting it.

    Prospect Heights Beer Works still has a case and a half, 8.99, 2 per person limit.

    (I suppose I'll have to retract my statement earlier in this thread.... sigh)

    Hicksville Beer got it. $6.99 per and 2 bottle limit. Also must buy 4 or 6 pack of Founder's. (The reason is quite reasonable. Founder's only gives KBS based on sales numbers of their beers. If you'd like to buy a limited release of a Founder's beer, store is only asking you support Founder's even more.)

    Little Neck Beverage won't get it until tomorrow.

    I thought this was madness as well - singles of BCBS still at the Bowery Whole Foods in mid-March in the cooler on the far right hand side. I admit I did a double-take - thought for certain all of that would've been snapped up by now.

    The amount of cases of bourbon county was far greater. The comparison is pointless.

    I'm almost convinced we may still see BCBS '12 on the shelves when '13 hits.

    KBS on the other hand... seems tougher to find this year than last thus far.

    Not intended as a 1:1 comparison, just with the buzz around BCBS, I was shocked it was still on shelves this late given all the ISO.

    The glorious upside of bmc backed beer. Oversaturation.
    Its more like the above example. The big accounts probably didnt exceed 48 bottles.

    definitely a lot of buzz regarding it but there was so much that made it to the NYC area, please good tens and tens of cases

    You'll be happy to know that New Beer ended up "finding" their case of KBS yesterday, and I was able to put one on hold. When I went to pick it up this morning, they wouldn't sell me a 2nd bottle, but did offer me a BCBS Coffee for $35, which I laughed at and left with my single KBS.

    Just called them at 12:10PM and they said they didn't have anymore.

    I also had called them on Tuesday and they said they had sold out of their case at that time as well.

    For anyone still looking, Prospect Heights Beer Works in Brooklyn still has some, $9/btl, limit 2. Behind the counter. Less than a case left, from what they said. Nice folks.

    For what its worth, they also have Barrel-Aged BORIS mismarked for $10/btl.
