    A few points:

    1) Rapid is in Stoneham, not Wakefield.

    2) If you talked to Shawn, he knows what he's talking about.

    3) That information may well be valid for distribution on the North Shore/Northeast MA which is covered by Seaboard Products (a division of L. Knife and Sons). That's technically a different distributor than than Boston/Central/Western MA which is covered by Craft Brewers Guild (also a division of L. Knife and Sons) and also different from South Shore/Southeast MA which is covered by L. Knife and Sons itself. They're all related, but allocations are not the same across those divisions.

Or has the set-up changed? It seems to be current on GreatBrewers.com

The distributors for MA apparently have a log up their collective colons... other New England states with anywhere from less than 1/4 to less than 1/2 the population of MA get at least half if not more of an allocation. Perhaps a baseball bat to many knees is in order

EDIT: could be Founders instead of the distributors

Is it the distributors or Founders that's responsible for the allocation of a particular state?

I just had a BA framinghammer.. and if someone had filled a bottle of KBS and handed it to me, I wouldn't have known the wiser. I'll still enjoy my KBS and all their vintage years.. but thanks to this thread.. I now have a new beer to add to the "known" good beer collection.. best part is it's local.

Taste is subjective, so I can certainly understand if someone says they prefer Framinghammer or find it an acceptable substitute for the value, etc. But you thought they tasted similar? I find them to be very different beers.

i think they're very different too, but the mind plays tricks. only way to know for sure is to have someone pour them for you blind.

Like I said, had them back-to-back last night and I would have no problem whatsoever telling them apart. Both are very good, but the base beers are distinct.

Only place I've heard is The Salty Pig. They said they will be tapping some this week, yesterday. No word yet.

I'll be out there with you. All I know is Whole Foods and Downtown Wine and Spirits told me yesterday that they were getting it today. Whether or not they actually get it is a different question. I'll believe it when I see it. Good luck.

A heads up to all, I just called Bauer on Newbury Street and was told that they got no KBS and have no more BA Framminghammer. He was also very short with me.
